“Even if he isn’t Ushiromiya Battler, my onii-Chan came back to me.” Umineko is amazing. I just finished it last week and I’m still thinking about it

I finished it a week ago and I’m still thinking about it. I read it with my roommate (who had already read it) over the semester and it’s amazing

I feel the same. I feel like you could cut out half of the game and the narrative would actually be better for it. The humor in a lot of places also just doesn’t really jive with me. It’s really buggy too, but it has a ton of heart put into it. You can tell the people who made it needed it to exist

My roommate just finished umineko today after 4 years and I would occasionally look at his screen during the last 2 episodes and every time I’d just see the weirdest shit ever and hear banger music coming from his headphones and I just had to accept it each time

It’s my favorite game. Knowledge-based games (I refuse to call them metroidbrainias) are just kind of the most fun genre since they have the most potential when it comes to just playing around with ideas as a developer, and Outer Wilds is kind of the pinnacle of that

Savage Beastfly in a pit of lava is up there with Bed of Chaos for some of the worst bosses of all time

I just like to believe this person read the trigger warnings and went “finally, the game for me”

I got FL Studio a few weeks back to learn how to do it and it is genuinely some of the most fun and artistically satisfying shit I’ve done. Like I did not know it was this much fun. I’m obviously still learning and not great at it, but even then it’s still fun to just mess around

I’ve been having a need for just positive vibes media and Frieren, Delicious in Dungeon, and Superman have given me just that. I’ve been trying to find a game to match this energy but I can’t for some reason idk

I’m not even a fan of kpop and I watched it last night and was shocked by how good it was

I love Void Stranger so much. So glad this video is finally out

“I wish I could erase my memory and play this game for the first time again” people don’t know real pain if they’re not referring to Outer Wilds. Like with other games or movies or whatever you can at least re-experience them, Outer Wilds is the only thing you get one of and that’s it

000

Anaben Skywalker @anabenskywalker.bsky.social · 18/07/2025

I’d argue the game helped me get to that point

I got a switch 2 on launch day and I just realized the only game I’ve played on it the past 5 days has been Mario Golf for the Nintendo 64

Anaben Skywalker @anabenskywalker.bsky.social · 07/06/2025

Just finished Deltarune chapters 3 and 4. I still think Undertale is the greatest game ever made (not my favorite) for how it fully takes advantage of everything the medium of video games was designed to do, but Deltarune is probably the better game if you know what I mean

000

Anaben Skywalker @anabenskywalker.bsky.social · 07/06/2025

Somehow the game Void Stranger always seems to be a game I can never stop thinking about. It’s somehow crossed my mind my mind everyday since I finished it, and it’s been like 10 or 11 months since I have. Just such a good game

000

Anaben Skywalker @anabenskywalker.bsky.social · 24/05/2025

I’m more so talking about the film industry and general audience than the game industry and people who play video games. I’m saying to them it often feels like they don’t consider games an art form and to “elevate” them, they have to be a film or tv show

110

Anaben Skywalker @anabenskywalker.bsky.social · 24/05/2025

I don’t like the idea of an Elden Ring movie. I don’t like the idea of most video game film adaptations, and that’s because what comes with that is this implication that video games can only be considered art if portrayed in a “prestigious” medium. Games are art and should be allowed to be games

Spoilers for expedition 33: I haven’t done all of the side content yet, but what if the writers the game talks about destroying the lives of the Dessendre family are just the writers of the game inflicting every ounce of trauma they can on this fictional family

010

Anaben Skywalker @anabenskywalker.bsky.social · 13/05/2025

I finished Expedition 33. Phenomenal and something that I’m glad got as big as it did. Even more than that though, it has a message I think I really needed to hear right now. It kind of came at the exact right time for me

Anaben Skywalker @anabenskywalker.bsky.social · 09/05/2025

I got to Act 3 about an hour ago. I’ve had an interesting day, from it being pretty all right to receiving some of the worst news I’ve heard in my life. That scene with Maelle and Verso on the bench wrecked me because of it

Anaben Skywalker @anabenskywalker.bsky.social · 06/05/2025

I finished Act 1 of Expedition 33. I am not ok

Your previous Roman Reigns video was my favorite video you’ve made, and you surpassed it with this. This is your best work, John. You got me, who didn’t really care about wrestling, to really care about wrestling. It sucks all the bullshit you went through to upload it, but it was worth it I think
