I really want to know who looked at the golf course that was *considered* to be built in the 1920s and felt that it was important to go back and make it that course, and not what was actually built then. From what little I'm seeing, that course looks to never existed.

Water heater died today, my engine light went on and a skateboarder ate shit off a curb, tumbled through two lanes and I would have run his stupid ass over for sure if I hadn't already had my eye on him. It feels like the world is hunting me today. .

I think it is grossly disrespectful to think that kids are incapable of understanding or showing interest in books and media that show a world outside their personal experience. They also can very much recognize when adults are being patronizing or condescending, and ultimately, that's what this is.

My daughter has created a lawful evil mantis cleric for D&D. He's terrified of women, guzzles sacramental cranberry wine and I think he has been trying to eat one of the other PCs from the start of the campaign. I'm not sure if I raised a genius or a psychopath. Either way, it keeps life fun.

I love that CPR classes now include suggestions of songs to reference to make sure your compressions are the right speed. And yet, I don't think any family members will appreciate me singing "Stayin' Alive" or "Another One Bites the Dust" under my breath as I try to help their loved one.

My driver instructor had some major mental breakdown second day of class, giving long-winded tirades while students were driving, raging about his estranged son, and at one point singling me out as a "church mouse" and said the other students would try to crush me under their feet.

One great thing about having a writing partner is that once in a while you go back and reread a co-authored story and think, "damn, I'm so lucky to write with someone so talented, that scene was just amazing." Then sometimes you check the doc history and realize it was you. Good feeling.
