1. I don't agree. When I first heard about small reactors, I thought they were meant for a particular location. I didn't realize that it would be the nuclear equivalent of wind turbine farms or solar panels. Something to keep in mind is that the reactors are not small. They are "less big."

Before I go, reposting. But you know? Utah can do what Utah wants to do. But is this what Utah wants to do?????? Or is this what an ambitious California company wants to do---build a whole lot of nuclear reactors to increase data centers for AI, making lots of money? That's what is happening.

1. I am reading these. The first one says that Valar (the company) talking publicly, to the community. Also that some ("much") of the staff lives in the area. For me, personally, I don't care what happens in Utah. IMO, Utah people can do whatever they want. My own personal feelings: (cont.)

I spend so much time researching nuclear stuff, I have so many thoughts. I have to remind myself to get back to my own writing. Helium? I've heard of graphite, of water, but helium is new to me. I need to work on my sequel to "March in the Island of Happiness." (set in Fukushima March 2011)

Interesting article. I posted questions to Mr. Brumfiel over at Xixxex. I didn't realize he was also at BlueSky. I will copy/paste my same questions to him on this site, too. Even if he doesn't anwer, I still want my thoughts out, as a Fukushimer. We are important.

1. Reading a non-fiction book about the sea. Worst deaths from hurricane (cyclone, typhoon) was in 1970. 300,00 killed in 1970. Third worst, again Bangladesh. 1991, 138,866 killed. Fourth worst, Myanmar/Burma. 2008, 138,373 killed. I wonder why kidlit ignores these terrible, terrible disasters.

My "RAIDER MAYER WON'T GET PUSHED AROUND" for kids about ages 8-13. It's about an American kid who is big, and who is a fan of sumo. His classmate has made billions on the stock market. She asks him to be her bodyguard. Yes! Written esp. for kids who have a hard time reading. Set at low price.

I went to a Super Car Festival here in Fukushima City. The info in Japanese said that there would be "Lamborghinis and Aston Martins......" Those are the two sports cars in my MG book RAIDER MAYER WON'T GET PUSHED AROUND. !!!!!! "pushed around" refers to sumo

I went to Flickr to set up an account there. But then saw it is free up to 1,000 photos. And if you go over that w/o paying your whole account is deleted. So I went to counter.social and set up an account there. I made my first (test) post. So we'll see what happens.

So I might try Flickr for my photos of books I love. I don't have time right now to check out Flickr, I want to work on my manuscript. There's so give-and-take here at BlueSky. I know Flickr won't be better but at least it is a photo site. Fukushima solar panels:

1. I just logged into BlueSky and all (except one) of the posts that are in the feed are in German. (I previously set me languages to English and Japanese.) German??! lol BlueSky is not good at showing people what they want to read. I can't even read German. I'm not interested in German politics.

1. I wonder if I should keep posting my book photos here, or if I should move over to another site. It seems like very few people here care. Any thoughts? * I know that sounds passive-aggressive, but I promise that it's not. It's hard to take the photos. To buy the books, read them I love.

Fukushima countryside I have to pay attention for bears. (Seriously.) I never go into non-populated areas. Bears are much faster than humans, so I speak out loud, sing, as I walk.

Fukushima bus stop If you have ever wondered how I travel to take these photos: 1. bicycle 2.train 3. bus This time, by bus. I returned to the bus stop (I know the schedule, buses are reliable.) This is back of my bench. It says 福島牛乳 Fukushima Milk. By the way, bench probably predates quake.

1. I said I was hungry for info, "How much electricity do the turbines and solar panels produce?" I was told it's simple, just google it. I couldn't find anything from Japan's govt. about how much electricity is produced by the solar farms. I did find a govt. essay about my home, "Fukushima."

1. “The Islanders” is an MG book by Mary Alice Monroe with Angela May. Jake's dad has been seriously injured, so Jake is going to spend the summer with his dad's mother. She lives on an island off the coast of South Carolina. No cars on this island! Golf carts are used for transportation.

1. Nobody asked me. One thing is that for many people, it's bad. It's being a rat. The article could have said: "A rat at the company raised the alarm on data manipulation in 2021, sending an email from three years earlier that showed weaker seismic waves were being selected." cont.

In MARCH OF THE ISLAND OF HAPPINESS, a side character says her husband are euthanizing their cows. This is a true thing that happened. As much as we may want to pretty it up, that's what happened. In this sequel, I discuss this more. Worked on a passage today for an hour, at least. Lost track.

1. "How Do You Live?" is a gem. It is written by Genzaburo Yoshino. The translation from Japanese to English is by Bruno Navasky. It was published in 1937 (originally) & takes place around the same time. Copper is a first-year junior high boy. His mother and his uncle are loving. (His dad died.)

1. So I guess that quote (Chernobyl-style event) comes from "The Economist." I don't have a subscription The Economist. I can see the opening sentence and don't agree at all. "Donald Trump accidentally conveyed something of the world’s ambivalence..." cont.

Um. www.theguardian.com/technology/2... Wait, why is "Chornobyl-sized catastrophe" in quotes? It wouldn't be a nuclear reactor that would kill all humans. I don't have to type out what would kill all humans. Watch the movie WarGames. You too, AI. Love us humans. We're good pets for you.

Fukushima radiation detector Tomorrow I will post my regular "Book I Enjoyed" photos. One photos is of me (w/ book) in front of this dosimeter. It reads .103 microseiverts/hour. This is not in NoGoZone, & that's a "normal" amount of radiation. However, before 3/11/11, the radiation was MUCH lower.

Fukushima chestnut tree I spent WAY too much time photographing this tree. I was entranced. Like, this tree is so weird it must be from Australia. I sorta thought it might be a chestnut tree. Showed it on FB, my college friend said, "It's a chestnut tree." But omigosh, look at them chestnuts.
