The Writing Framework is out and I’m pleased to see the focus on oral composition of sentences and vocabulary. However, the best bit is the paragraph about Developmental Language Disorder & its impact on writing on pg. 81! #DLD #DevelopmentalLanguageDisorder

Clear message today from @amandafiner.bsky.social - chn & YP need more TIME to process and express their views & we need to really listen. The questions make me think of the phrase “every interaction is an intervention” - can’t underestimate the power of listening and talking #DevLangDis #NAPLIC25

Abraz Hussein, an adult with DLD tells his story. He got through primary without much support, but at start of secondary was permanently excluded. Then went to PRU before getting diagnosed and going to a special school for speech and language. Support makes all the difference! #NAPLIC25 #DevLangDis

Not surprised by the reduction in SLCN RPs but seems counter productive when speech, language & communication needs are increasing and we know chn with SLCN struggle academically at school. RPs provide knowledgeable staff and usually more frequent access to speech and language therapy. #devlangdis

It is our conference on Saturday and we'll be live posting on BlueSky. It's our first time here (as opposed to the other place), so if you are interested in Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) #DevLangDis, #SLCN or #oracy, join in the conversation. We'll be using #NAPLIC25

The education select committee has an inquiry on 'Solving the SEND crisis.' The list of questions is long and the time is short (Jan 30th), but even a short response mentioning your concerns about #DevLangDis and #SLCN can make a difference. committees.parliament.uk/call-for-evi...
