And that’s a wrap! Doing a PhD with @markhailwood.bsky.social and Prof. Jane Whittle (with Dr. Tyler Rainford, left, as my PhD brother) was the absolute best. I may not be in academia, but you can bet I’ll still be infiltrating @drinkingstudies.bsky.social anyway 😂❤️

Yesterday I used this "AI -Free Statement" in a conference talk for the first time. Still trying to figure out the exact language. Feel free to borrow, modify, etc.
At no point in this study did I use AI. This includes the literature review, logical organization, writing, analysis, and proofreading. I do not cite any studies that use AI, to the extent that it is possible to know.

In many histories of early modern printing houses, women play a secondary role. Heleen Wyffels questions this narrative and asks instead: what happens when we read the stories that printers themselves told about their family businesses? This is so excellent! I was *just* looking for something like this, as I wanted to find a bunch of images for a public talk I'm doing on International Women's Day. Favourite early modern image so far:
Early modern image titled 'Tittle-Tattle; Or, the several Branches of Gossipping. It shows the places women were likely to meet and gossip: The child-bed, the church, the market, the bake-house, the alehouse, the conduit, and washing at the riverside.
