He was SO incredible to watch. I remember being there for PAC vs Kenny Omega at AEW All Out 2019, and being absolutely floored by the insanity of what we got to witness. No one moved like him. It was pure and utter magic getting to see him like this.

When OKADA first joined AEW, I begged TK over twitter to book OKADA vs PAC. I couldn’t believe it happened at a show we were going to. That match was a fever dream of awesome, and chanting HE’S OUR BASTARD in an outpouring of respect and appreciation is something I’ll remember forever.

Finding some solace in the garden today, especially with the moisture from the remnants of Hurricane Polo bringing a flurry of activity from these Longhorn Crazy Ants. I caught two pairs of them saying hello to each other and I thought that was pretty neat. ❤️

Two pairs of small black ants are saying hello by touching their antennae to each other. Really, they’re making sure they’re members of the same colony and that they belong. They’re kinda like club bouncers. If you pass, you can go. If not, then gtfo.

This morning I came across a very important bird meeting, and thought you guys would like to see it.

A gathering of birds are conducting a very important bird meeting above two traffic lights. One bird is late and rushing in to join the meeting. I don’t even think it had time to fix its hair

Oh my god. PAC passed away? AEW just posted this on their instagram. He was just there? We saw him last night at All Out? This is… gosh, I can’t even process this. This is horrible. I don’t understand. RIP. This is devastating.

All Elite Wrestling is saddened to announce the passing of Benjamin Satterley, aka Pac. And here’s some little bee booties sticking out of the flowers. They go alllllll the way in there!

091

Here’s another one, getting ready to dive into another flower. They’re so funny because they crawl all the way in with their little butts sticking out, and cover themselves with pollen while getting nectar drunk on the flowers.

Look at how neat they look! The western honeybees are super docile, and, since I’m not allergic to them, I can spend quite a bit of time right in the midst of them, completely unbothered. I love bees. 🥹🐝

Took some pictures of the honey bees that are going nuts on my Texas Sage plant tonight. This plant blooms after rain, and when it does, the whole huge bush blooms all at once! And bees go crazy over it! There are hundreds of bees right now, but this one is one of my favorites. She’s so pretty! 🐝

Got a nice picture of a pretty little Ceraunus Blue butterfly today! These butterflies love the Baja Fairy Duster plant (pictured here). They use it both for nectar and as a host plant for their babies! This plant was covered with bees and butterflies. I’ll have to see if I can find any eggs! ❤️

Saving this in the meme folder for future use. Idk what for yet, but I’m sure it’ll come in handy. Aubrey is STRESSED.

My lizard friends are back!!!!!! I have a couple lizards that live in my mesquite tree, but I usually only see them in Spring, because that’s when I would be out planting and monitoring the garden. But now I get to see them in Fall too!!!! My little lizard guys are back!!!!!!

On the way home, my dash cam caught a rainbow and fork lightning at the same time right by the fairgrounds. I’m so glad it caught it because it was freaking BEAUTIFUL to see while driving. What a fun and stormy morning! #azwx

The Lorax stands defiantly on a truffela tree, but I'm saying he's victorious because Tommaso Ciampa looks like The Lorax and he just won a wrestling match against a big meaty dude

The baby grasshoppers are still here and they’re growing up! ❤️ They’re about 16mm now, almost 1/2”! It’s just a little kid! The grownups are much larger, at around 1.5-2” long. Really cool to see these little guys grow up. 🥹

And a leaf miner fly I got last week. Also less than 1mm. Once they get that small, I run into the limitations of my macro lens resolution, even at very close proximity.

Here we go! Actually just got this today. Less than 1 mm in length, very small milkweed bug nymph in early instar!

A small red and yellow striped bug with black legs and black antennae crawling on a native milkweed plant

1101

Here’s its back. This thing is so neat!!!! Not only is it armored, but it can also get stinky if bothered, like a stink bug! It eats seed pods, which I have plenty of with a native mesquite tree nearby. What a kick ass little (big) dino bug!

A picture of an insect that has brown and black markings on it. It has giant shoulder blades that look like something out of a GWAR concert- rigid lines with pierced ends that look like spiky shoulder armor. It has a long narrow back with a black abdomen, and a black and brown cross in the middle that ends at the spiky shoulders

GUYS I JUST FOUND A BUG THAT LOOKS LIKE A DINOSAUR. It’s a native species of Leaf Footed Bugs (Mozena arizonesis) and it looks like a Protoceratops!!! Look at how cool this thing is!!! It’s also huge, over 1” long! Its back has really cool markings on it too (pic in comments). What a cool bug!!!

Added some golds and reds in the bee and butterfly pond for Fall! But now it kinda looks like a melted Pringles man. 😅 #leavesisplants #gardensky

A bee and butterfly water station for pollinators to drink from. It’s a shallow tray with about 1/2” of water in it, and lots of small pebbles (clear, gold, red) with a few flat skipping rocks for insects to land on as they drink water . It is on a wrought iron plant holder

I also pre-setup the irrigation line for the next garden bed, so it’ll all be ready to go once I build it! For now, it’s closed off. The wet spots are from all the testing I ran to check for leaks in the elbow and T fittings, before I secured and plugged the line. I’ll make it clean & tidy later. 😂

090

Fuck yeah. It’s not the prettiest (I’ll fix that later), but I’ve got 4 manifolds up and running, and 75’ of 1/2 irrigation line set with all the elbow and t-fittings I need. Tested the lines for leaks several times, so far, so good! I’ve got one manifold fully set, the others will be tonight.

SPEAKING OF… look at what I’m wearing! I’m looking back through my notes and diagrams to refresh my memory too. 😂

Ayyyyy I’m doing the responsible thing and working on my irrigation today!!! 🙌

A bunch of irrigation supplies. Hoses, PVC fittings, drip line stuff, pvc pipe cutters, stakes and just a bunch of stuff to have to put together. And measuring tape so I don’t raw dog the irrigation setup and fuck it up

Spent my morning at the Arizona Worm Farm, hanging out in the food forest. It’s a lovely oasis in the desert, with trails adorned with apple, fig, pomegranate, and even banana trees! All kinds of fruits and veggies are grown here. And a koi pond! It’s a beautiful little paradise in South Phoenix.

I know I’m jumping ahead just a little bit, but I’ve been holed up for months without being able to plant anything in the brutal Phoenix summer. Today…: I planted some native blanket flower seeds! First time direct sowing! I’m SO excited to get back into the ground. Grow little seeds, grow! 🌱

A patch of exposed soil with mulch moved over. It is surrounded by penta flowers, and wet from misting for little seeds to grow

By significant, I mean like, 6. But for someone who has literally never seen a baby grasshopper before, that’s a lot! This is what the adult looks like. Not a macro shot obviously because they’re huge and jumpy.

Look at their weird eyes. They’re so cool!

090

You guys wanna see a baby grasshopper? 🥹 This is very likely a Gray Bird Grasshopper nymph, having just hatched from the egg! I have quite a significant little colony of these little guys, both in my irrigated garden zone, and in my native zone! They’re so cute!!!

A bright green baby grasshopper with big eyes, tiny antenna a big ass head and a tiny body with tiny forearms. Its legs are nearly as long as its body! But it’s still super small, only running about 10mm long.
