An #F1 halo, undoubtedly a huge contributor to motorsport safety. With main tubes made from 50mm diameter, 4mm thick titanium. Only a small number of FIA approved companies can make them, teams can't make their own. This one made by polar technologies (SST). #F1Tech

Feel so sorry for Marcus Fakana & this absurd, hellish situation. The girl’s mother must have known there would be serious ramifications as she ensured her daughter was out of the country before contacting police. The woman is a disgrace. Her daughter met a boy she liked & had consensual sex.

With elections 8 wks away, most #German parties have agreed to a fair campaign (refrain from personal or professional degradation or attacks, debate respectfully, avoid deliberate false facts/claims) Most parties. Except for the far-right AfD & the far-left BSW. www.tagesschau.de/inland/bunde...

I take my Christmas tree home on the bus in London. I know it looks ridiculous but every year it gives the drivers a laugh. It’s also the one time of the year when I find so many fellow passengers will stop to chat.

Hopefully not a resurgence of al-Qaeda / Isis. Will one leader able to successfully unite the various factions? Hasn’t worked elsewhere in the region. Can only hope for the best for the people of Syria, with time for communities to recover and rebuild. What comes next is always a worry.

Is that the house just off Owlet’s Nest on the back road to baysbrown? Had a huge refurbishment and gardens landscaped few years ago? If so, it’s been totally gutted recently. No internal floors, conservatory/lean-to removed.

🧵 It's a cold, windy, rainy November day, & I have 2 boxes outside, inviting people to help themselves to scarves & hats. It's low-threshold help, I hope, esp for delivery drivers who might have little to no money. Overnight, someone took one of the hats, & that makes me so happy!

Some Arsenal Ticket Exchange tips from the guru (and one secret hack). A 🧵. First: use a laptop. The mobile experience sucks. Chrome also better than FF or Safari. 1. Enter the ballot for every match! Costs nowt, you may get lucky, and you CANNOT be given a ticket or buy one on TX if you didn't.

Really impressed with Nwaneri’s composure and confidence at such a young age. He’s the real deal. Can’t wait to see what the future brings for him.

That would be my ideal lineup too. I’ve always thought Jenson looks like he has an issue with Danica. She doesn’t add anything, no driver insights like Nico. Bernie is just fab with her strategy inputs and quick calculations. Shame we don’t get more of her.

Those post-race interviews were so awkward. Should be interested next season as there could be a few more cars in contention. Congrats to George - his radio messages were hilarious. F1

Really enjoyed F1 quali this morning. Interesting grid! Should make for an exciting start. Did not enjoy getting up at 4.50am and finding it was the broadcast and not actually qualifying that started at 5am. Respect to those who follow around the world and get up at crazy hours on a regular basis.

I reported blatant racism, homophobia, antisemitism & every single one was deemed to not have broken safeguarding rules. I’ve still got my account there only for getting travel updates/contacting rail companies & for gig news but hopefully those accounts will migrate over & I can delete the account.

I’m really enjoying seeing the 20 books posts here. Quite nostalgic and also getting recommendations for more titles to add to the already huge pile of books next to my bed to be read. Looking forward to see what else you come up with next…

How much are the originals? They’re all fab. Would be interested in prints but it would depend upon price and print run.
