unity still haven't shipped a full-featured SRP (even though they've shipped 4 of them - HDRP 2D/3D, URP 2D/3D, with another one coming soon, Unified Rendering - yes, the name is near identical to the Universal Rendering Pipeline, because of course it is)
DOTS/ECS is still unfinished
they spent years pushing MARS for AR then completely dropped it in 6.3
dropped x86_64 on Android/ChromeOS with 1 version warning
it still has 3 different UI systems
TextMeshPro still mangles RTL languages and a chunk of Unicode
IL2CPP still doesn't support a bunch of C# language features
has no feature-complete 3D level design tools
bought the Bolt visual scripting system then killed the community and future updates
repeatedly buying popular assets or innovative teams and completely killing them (Probuilder, Bolt, TMP, Polybrush, SpeedTree, Weta Digital)
pushed Unity Collaborate, didn't use it themselves, then bought plasticSCM, renamed to Unity Version Control, which they still don't use themselves
cancelled the one serious attempt at dogfooding they've ever had, gigaya (which had actually been providing real feedback that was being acted upon)
the physics engine (and default settings) is still pretty terrible for anything actually physics driven
managed to alienate tons of devs with the abusive license/runtime fee practices, pushing tons of users to Godot

i could keep going.

even ignoring the AI hype, unity are just fundamentally not capable of delivering even basic stuff. i desperately need their CEO to Stop Talking

Pretty happy with this one, had no references for drawing the character, besides looked at some cloth folds for drawing the sleeves. Attempt was to simplify the shape language, I always end up rendering way too much detail when drawing and I’m trying to overcome that with heavier stylization.

Some progress on my entry for the #LynchianIdeasGameJam . Have some of the UI working and have started on the environment renders (it will all be prerendered, at least the plan for now). #godotengine
