Q: Quartet I still haven't played it, but based on the few pixelated JRPGs I played as a kid, I would have loved this one! It would make me feel right at home trying to understand English and just discovering which word does what during the combat, just like I did in Pokémon and Final Fantasy.

[Challenge] VGMC Day 07: Friend's Fave So I am choosing Metroid since I know @garishcurio.bsky.social loves it! [Challenge] VGMC Day 06: Short Game I was trying to remember short games that I played in the past few years and last year I played Toodee and Topdee. The last area/world song, Return; by Kajnoon, is sooooo good! Gives a sense of urgency but still reminds me of puzzle themes, it fits perfectly! 2️⃣🧩

[Challenge] VGMC Day 05: Desert Level Well, technically, it is not only played in the desert but also in the town and near the dungeon... I could not think of any other besides The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time's Gerudo Valley. Koji Kondo composed a masterpiece here, in my opinion.

[Challenge] VGMC Day 04: Dance-Off! Okay, I never used this game and that is crazy because there are so many awesome songs that totally fit the dancing category in it! Happy that sharing it here helps somehow. 😄 I would personally recommend reading about the characters' builds to avoid going in too blind and having trouble like I did. 🥲 But avoid reading things that may spoil the story.

I was supposed to play it on PC, but for some reason, the game just doesn't start after character creation. 😭 So I bought it again on Switch, because I really wanted to give it a try.

That's ok. I recently heard someone saying that they liked the memory of playing KOTOR, and I guess I do understand it. Back when it launched, there weren't a billion games and younger people usually have more time and less responsibility to focus on the game, I guess that would have worked for me.

starting the game all over again. I praise the voice acting, the character development, the number of options, and the story so far. And I guess those bad decisions may have taken away the fun I could have. Maybe trying to focus on combat skills and strength and dexterity should have been my choice. I just didn't know how much it would affect the gameplay and how hard the game could get. And after 15 hours, I don't feel like...

Unfortunately, I stopped playing after finishing the main objective in Tatooine. and I took 10+ tries to beat a guy there. I felt more exhausted than happy... I went to Kashyyyk, started there, and I was getting beat by some kind of bugs. I probably made a lot of wrong choices in the game...

So, even though the game has a reputation, I guess playing the same version today, without any quality of life improvement, is not for me. I really wanted to know more about the main character, Bastilla, Juhani, the robot I got on Tatooine... But I just don't feel like I am having fun in combat.

I really wanted to enjoy the things that the game does well, but the way things work, no easy explanation for the mechanics, items and combat, and still depend a lot on luck for even hitting the enemies was not making me have fun experimenting. It was really getting on my nerves, actually.

The other main issue for me is that I died a lot... But sometimes I wasn't expecting to enter a battle and forgot to save close to starting it... Well, it goes back to the main menu, and you may load the game from your last manual save... That clearly took me off in the beginning.

Probably it is a game that wants people to explore its options, to learn about the game while they play instead of giving tutorials and explanations along the way or even providing it. Well, that is clearly not the thing for me. I usually read things to get a picture of how it works and then try it.

And I mean for progression. I probably read it too late that I shouldn't use auto-leveling up... But the number of missed attacks from my team and the low number of damage I did was really making me stressed. Almost every enemy group was making me angry. How can one miss so much in melee combat?

It has some very awesome things. I was enjoying the plot quite a bunch, side missions that develops the characters which are interesting, I even started enjoying Pazaak despite it being heavenly dependent on luck. But luck is clearly not on my side. In fact, luck is my main issue with the game.

[Game] Well, quite sad with this one, but I guess I must admit defeat. I am not finishing Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. I wanted to, at least, finish the main story, since it was a recommendation on the 12 from 12 challenge from @mrkittsgames.bsky.social. But after 15+ hours, I give up. 😭

Y: Yoshi's Story Yes, it wasn't Ys this time hahaha 🤣 When I was a kid, I replayed this soooooo many times. Most of the games I owned in the Nintendo 64 are games that I replayed a ton. I am sure I did finish it at least twice. Not as many times as Super Mario 64 or The Legend of Zelda OOT.

I don't even know why I want to play it, but it just feels like I played it so long ago. Probably would be nice to play before Finally playing TTYD. And I wanted to see how smooth Link's Awakening is on NS2, it did have some rough parts with framerate on NS1.
