Pipes from Ghostwatch. I was 13 when this show went out on Halloween night in 1992, and after a while you just start...noticing him. Or rather *it*, since it's an amalgam of spirits going back possibly centuries. Even with my parents assuring me it wasn't real, it haunted my thoughts for ages.

All this collection does is highlight with pin-sharp clarity just how buttock-clenchingly awful most of the Alien Breed games are. The only good ones are Alien Breed Special Edition '92 and Alien Breed 3D. The rest range from dull and frustrating to antagonistically hateful.

I'm sorry, chaps, but James Pond simply isn't worth the effort. The franchise is to platformers what Kick Off was to football games: briefly popular on certain formats at a time when nothing much else of note was available in the same genre, but then better games turned up, rendering it obsolete.
