We are up to 688 LoCITT participants! If we could enroll all 1,000 participants within a month of launch (by 11/30), it would send a powerful message about the demand for remote Long COVID clinical trials. We appreciate the community's help to spread the word: longcovid.scripps.edu/locitt-t/?ut...

We are at a red-alert moment with queer stories right now. Literally this morning, I was chatting with a seasoned Hollywood producer who just had a project halted b/c executives were skittish about it being too gay. Not only is a mass-erasure of queer characters plausible... it's already begun.

Don't "thots & prayers" trans* and queer people this month, much less today. Instead, give money directly to trans* people and/or Trans-led orgs who are directly supporting people in need. Queer people need material and practical support to stay safe and alive, not mouth-words-only "allies".

Point of Pride is the real deal. I volunteer to read applications and see first hand the number of people who need small amounts of money for application fees etc. We really do make sure the money is used incredibly well. Please donate if you are able! If you need money for GAC, check out PoP!

“KAMALA HASN’T EARNED MY VOTE.” How about all those trans kids who are about to lose decades of hard-won rights? Did they also fail to “earn your vote”? Voting wasn’t something you owed Kamala Harris. It was something you owed all the people Trump was going to hurt. You fucking dilettante.

Georgia voter turnout was 3% yesterday. You all can show up to protest, but you can't fucking show up where it really counts at the polls to vote. You are not serious people.

QUEER ART IS REVOLUTION. The paintings I have in this Pride month joint show at Cambium Gallery are in-your-face queer. I get into just a little of what it means to be visible and invisible as a queer person. (Spoiler: both equally suck these days.) There's a lot to behold and discuss.
Announcement of art show opening with two featured artworks by the two show artists. Text reads: Cambium Art Gallery celebrates Pride with Soul City by Stephanie Anderson and (In)Visible by Amie Pascal. Artist reception June 13th 6pm - 8pm, 1030 Duane St. Astoria Oregon 97103

I'm currently reading Malinda Lo's 'Last Night at the Telegraph Club' and I can't help but feel like this book made its way to me when I MOST needed the nightly refuge. Grateful to Lo's craft and the heart put into dynamic and delightful characters.

I just wrote my Dem senators & thanked them for standing by Trans people. This is important to do, period. Also, if we all fight for the civil rights and liberties of Trans* people, we fight for ALL humans. If they decide they can sacrifice the ~1.3% of the pop. that is Trans*, we are all doomed.

Painting portrait of the Mexican artist Frida Kahlo by artist Amie Pascal. It is an abstract multi-colored background with a bust 3/4 profile portrait of Frida, who has flowers on her head and a red scarf around her neck and draped over her shoulders over a pink and green dress. Around her face in cursive writing is a quote written by Frida in her life, sourced from her posthumously published diary.

My WIP painting 'Fireweed' is all too relevant for the many thousands of people rebuilding lives after devastation, from Palestine to LA. Fireweed is a wildflower that blooms after fire has devastated an ecosystem. May everyone experiencing loss have restoration & beauty once again. #art #painting
Painting of two stalks of the wildflower Fireweed on a bright yellow background. A hand with olive complexion is holding a paintbrush on the lower right, painting a light cerulean blue background around the green leaves and magenta petals.

Black and white photo of a very fluffy longhaired grey kitten, sitting up looking so perfectly chonky and friendly. The name Topsey is written beneath the photo, and “Copyright 1907 by H.I. Robbins”. A bow has been painted onto the image to make appear as if Topsey is wearing a ribbon that ties in front.

'Dirty Dancing' is a truly great film. Teaches that abortion rights (& safe access!) are important and men who read Ayn Rand are bad news, AND that young women can be independent thinkers (breaking from conservative, normy family) and be class traitors. Plus a hot love story w/ a banger soundtrack!
