Progress continues on my yet-untitled Book 2. This evening I wrote up two new fighter subclasses (a nature/plant one, and one that sacrifices most armor for speed). This one is shaping up to be a nice sequel to my first D&D 5e supplement. #dnd #ttrpg

I had some ripe bananas on the counter, plenty of eggs in the fridge, and a hankering to bake something...so I bought some whole milk and french bread while I was at the store (things we typically don't keep in the house). Banana bread pudding is so worth the time to make. #baking #dessert

There's a little tabletop gaming convention the weekend before Thanksgiving in Winona, MN called Winona Con. winonacon.com You can stop in to play some games. If you've got a favorite, you can bring it to introduce new players. I'll be there, so you can say hi & chat about D&D or anything else.

Working on writing and illustrating another big D&D book. Successfully published the first one, so I'm cautiously optimistic about doing it again.

Everything there is a placeholder (since I don't yet have a new cover, or a title) and "coming soon" is a relative term (I don't plan to crowdfund until the book is mostly complete), but the link is live for those who want to use it.

Looking at more Midwest gaming cons where I can show people my giant D&D book (and sell it to them). Looked at one happening in spring that wants $250 for a basic booth...and it'll be their first convention. Yeah, no. If they get a ton of people, I'll consider it for 2028.

Tubi has a ton of old, free movies that I've heard of but had never seen. I've used it for nostalgia watching, but also to see some of that old stuff that I'd missed when I was in elementary school.

I was clearing out a bunch of stuff from my basement the other day, and came across an illustration I made during a gaming convention two years ago for a D&D magic item...that I haven't actually written out yet. Guess it's a sign I should finally write it out and add it to my next book. #writing

As a writer of new D&D game content, I use Wikipedia for inspiration a lot. They ask for donations sometimes, but otherwise it's free and there are no ads & no ai. I've used it to look up mole rats, historic paint pigments, walnut growing, Roman gods, & more. It's worth tossing them a few coins.

Back to writing D&D 5e Book 2 (after doing some freelance page layout work). In the last couple of days I've written 3 new cleric subclasses, a couple of new spells for one of those domains, and brainstormed over a dozen new hazardous area ideas. Now to do some prep work for Sioux City Geek Con.

If you take hours to plan a thing and the PCs go a different way, that thing can just be somewhere along their path. Nothing is canon until the PCs encounter it. Also, you can change anything between campaigns.

In 2017, I decided to make blue dragonscale cosplay armor to wear to Gen Con. Each scale was hand cut, heat shaped, painted, and sewn onto the armor. I sometimes overdo things when I try something new. I gave extra dragon scales away to kids at the con. It still hangs in my office. #gencon

A wizard can cast detect magic as a ritual, which does not expend a spell slot but does take 10 minutes to cast. They don't even need to have it prepared, just in their spellbook. The spell then lasts for up to 10 minutes. Using it in every room this way might be slow, but legal by the rules.
