iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

I’ve embarked on a new music sharing project. I spend a perhaps unreasonable amount time going through new releases every week. This short playlist will distill my choice selection every week. It’s meant to be curated, not comprehensive. music.apple.com/us/playlist/...

It took months of fussing (and procrastinating) but I finished a new full size Slippery Geometry piece. The work is going through a major evolution and finding how it works in a new paradigm is proving to be hard scrabble. I finally found a sort of rhythm. I began to think of it as a graphic score.

BEST-OF-2025-LIST ADDITION There’s a growing case that music in this vein represents a very new sub genre, one that I don’t think yet has a name. It’s DIY but highly produced, disjointed and dubby with elements of ambient and pop, liminal and lyseegic. leydenjars.bandcamp.com/album/illuso...

A fun little playlist made to order (we do requests!) Started with Kinks’ Big Sky and sonically free-associated for a while, then thinned it out and organized it into an order. It gained a theme of mostly spacious or stately (or both) tunes. open.spotify.com/playlist/7Jk...

Hear me out: as a person with an unholy love of heist movies, I say that at its heart, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind is a heist, just of memories. Yes it’s a love / break up story, but the mechanics of it…. Plus, there’s heist precedent for someone who hires a team to steal from themselves.
