Pretty certain there is something absolutely enormous missing from this list. I think I am still shocked that the mass murder of Palestinians is something that is seemingly either forgotten or not worth mentioning. But of course in reality I shouldn't be shocked about the worth placed on such lives.

This has been Eddie's position for much of the last few days. There are cooler parts in the house but he does unfortunately like to spend time up in the attic, the hottest part of the house.

Harbour Hoolie in North Berwick & the crowd sing The Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond. Lovely! Singing together is wonderful. There should be songs all kids in England learn together, music uniting us. Doubt those who think they're English patriots could unite us in moving songs!

Eddie is 'helping' me write up the books I've read over past few months. If helping means sprawling your body over the notebook making it very difficult for someone, ie me, to write in it.

Eddie got fed up of waiting for me to go to bed so took himself up to bed. But I'm not clear where I'm supposed to be sleeping.

On a rare occasion Eddie jumps up on the shelves above the telly. I never know why, or what he expects to find up there. It's not the easiest jump for my older boy, so I like when he does it.

Eddie recovering from another big fight last night. He came in 3amish, covered in mud, & a wound on his neck scruff. Able to clean that, but he then had one of his rare asthma type attacks. Gave up cleaning mud off as it irritated him. He's still a bit out of sorts. Damn fights!

Very snowy, Bole Hill Road in Walkley. Even town had snow, on the most slippery surfaces known to man that Sheffield has decided to pave itself with. Ideal for a wet, hilly town. #Sheffield #stormgorreti

Goodbye to the xmas decorations today and back at work tomorrow. It's been a lovely time off (whilst ignoring the state of this country and the world). Back to reality.

My Christmas tree, it's artificial and very very tinsely, with lots of xmas tree decorations on it.

I went to three Christmas Nine Lessons services this year, and in two of them was lucky enough to be sat very near to someone who could sing the descant. Wonderful. Sheffield Cathedral was the last one.

Xmas decs up at last. There is more tinsel around but more out of reach of certain members of the household who will try and nibble it.

Glasgow is such a great city. Obviously I love Sheffield (home) but how much better the city centre would be if we hadn't had the abomination of Meadowhall created. Didn't see all the xmas lights but this reindeer was quite spectacular.

And Coxwold was very pretty with a beautiful church, St Michael's. A quick look at Helmsley Castle. Juvenilely amused by the statute and its toned arse.

Another gorgeous day for more seeing stuff. Byland Abbey. Must have been an amazing rose window. Good to see and hear buzzards, not so good seeing/hearing fighter jets (always makes you realise how terrifying these must be, hearing them before they attack).

Byland Abbey remains including part of the stonework for the rose window, and the tiles that are still there, a very rare sight.

Those folded over paws! Cute but deadly, as we're very much entering into "nighttime Eddie" mode, when he was much more feisty.

Spent around 45 mins chasing Eddie with a mouse round the house in the middle of the night. He is increasingly not making much noise when he brings them to the bedroom, until he's cached them into a hard to get to corner, & then I can wake up & "play". Welly trick worked finally.
