Natural History Museum Denmark is beautifully located in the corner of the Botanical Garden near Nørreport Station. Until October 2022 the museum also welcomed guests at the Zoological Museum at Østerbro, which is now closed to the public in order to prepare for the new museum building that will open in the Botanical Garden in a few years time.

Someone was kind enough to send him for me to keep & take much needed pics. Then I handed him off to the students who are now caring for him ☺️

Its that time of year again: a male Snow Flea, one of 3 seen yesterday in woodland on the Shrops/Herefords border. These 4mm relatives of Scorpionflies live in moss (esp. Polytrichum & relatives) & are winter active as adults. Not fleas of course but they can jump a bit.
A Snow Flea - a small, long-legged insect with a very long face (like its relatives the scorpionflies). An overall dark, bronzy colour with yellow & orange highlights.

Sometimes micro-moths like this Callima (likely) argenticinctella are absolutely stunning little animals. People often walk right past thinking they're just tiny moths, but under magnification you realize you've missed out on something truly beautiful. #entomology #bugsky #Invert 🌿
