🚨A new under-reported NZ Bill: Summary Offences Amendment Bill closes 2pm Mon 6 Oct. The Bill risks criminalising legitimate protest, is vague, unnecessary, gives wide Police discretion, allows arrest without warning, & could chill free expression. Submit: www3.parliament.nz/en/pb/sc/mak... More 👇

Book 10 is the pinnacle of the slog. Who’s told you it’s not part of the slog? They were having a laugh clearly! While people disagree on the starting point of the slog, I think book 10 is almost universally recognised as the slog.

The West Bank has been shrinking geographically as Palestinians are forced out to make way for Jewish settlements. It’s apartheid and there is probably a case for the process of removal from the land to be ethnic cleansing. Certainly that happened in 1948 during Al Nakba in both Gaza and West Bank.

Gathering Storm is my favourite of the 14 books. But I enjoy all three of them. And I also enjoy Jordan’s.

Closed eyes, deep breaths, and playing this song while I imagine a world where fascism is toppled, the wars are ended, and a global revolution propels humanity towards a peaceful and equitable future. And of course, #TheWheelofTime is renewed. A girl can dream. #SaveWoT #WeepforManetheren

For some people it’s definitely in the ‘gets good’ over time piece. S3 is a spectacular season of TV up there with the greats. It’s much faster paced than the first two seasons as well. S2 is also good tv with some hard-hitting moments but is slow up front. S1 was heavily affected by COVID.

Alexandre Willaume (thom) peaking in from the left, Hammed as Loial sitting on the ground, Josha as Rand leying on the ground, and bernie in his famous mittens seated pose

He’s responsible for running the show. He’s not responsible to fans who disagree with creative choices that were made as part of a team. And he’s not responsible for a schism relating to fans’ very different readings of the books and different interpretation of the show.

Incurable optimist @ameliat.bsky.social · 12/06/2025

Accept responsibility? He doesn’t owe you or anyone else a thing. These story choices may not make sense to you but they were all made deliberately as part of a team for reasons related to telling a TV story. I would suggest listening to the Wheel Takes podcast episodes about the show.

100

Incurable optimist @ameliat.bsky.social · 12/06/2025

Yeah nah - they needed to change s1 halfway through production, especially the last few episodes and rewrite the whole of s2. Given the circumstances it’s a miracle the team were able to produce a show at all. The level of hate he receives is unjustified and unfair.

110

Incurable optimist @ameliat.bsky.social · 12/06/2025

That’s a lot to put on one person. There’s thousands of people involved in the show, executives above his pay grade, a pandemic, two separate strikes and the loss of a main actor to contend with. If you want to blame anything for that schism I’d blame either the pandemic or the internet algorithms.
