At today's @hifmb.de seminar, @gerlienverhaegen.bsky.social points out that collecting squishy deep-sea jellyfish for scientific study is an artform - some disintegrate in daylight, most fall apart with nets.. scientists are lucky to get one or two individual samples from ROV dives.

A paper I've been working on for quite a while has just come out today in @natureandspace.bsky.social! It brings together chemical 'slipperiness' from chemical studies and geographies literature, and defines characteristics to clarify and operationalise slipperiness. doi.org/10.1177/2514...
