This is not even getting into how in more recent history we've refined medicine, public health, etc, to basically ensure way more humans survive to adulthood. That's more brains with more ideas getting to contribute to the fabric of humanity, even in the smallest ways.

Big brains take a lot of energy. Australopithecus and possibly their predecessors finding and refining methods to obtain more calories for less effort allowed larger brained hominids, who would otherwise been unable to balance obtaining and expending energy, to live, mate, and iterate further.

As someone diagnosed adhd in 2018 and autistic just this year, I still feel this. Diagnosis wasn't a relief because I still had to figure out things, and it wasn't like I could wear a big "AuDHD" sign and have people be more considerate and patient with me.
