I think my 2% chud is from picking "at least three, don't bother me kid" over "gender is a spectrum and there are many possible answers" on the "how many genders are there" question. Both of those are true, but one is funnier.

The last Anne of Green Gables book has a character who knits a sock a day for the war effort, and a Stephen King book has a character who can knit a pair of socks in a day, if she's in the right frame of mind. Both these women are witches. This sock took me almost a week!

I love Stephen King but either the doctor he had looking over his work was lazy or King didn't listen to him. I am but a simple medical editor and my eyes are rolling into the back of my head. Keflex is a cephalosporin, not a penicillin! The speaker here is a pharmacist who definitely knows that!

That's what I *thought* you said, Katz almost told this crazy momser, and then decided that might provoke him. He had heard of drugstores getting held up for speed, for Bennies, for half a dozen other things (including Mrs Rathbun's precious Valium), but he thought this might be the first penicillin robbery in history.

Omg, the guy had a deportation order! The circumstances in which he received it are not his fault and he clearly shouldn't be deported, but how do you hear "they're going to focus on people with criminal records" and not think "gee, maybe my immigrant husband with a deportation warrant might count?"

More than a decade ago, before their marriage, Abdellatif hired attorney Earl Seth David to file naturalization paperwork. David failed to notify him of a scheduled immigration court hearing. When Abdellatif did not appear, a deportation order was issued in absentia.

David was later convicted in federal court for running a large immigration fraud scheme and sentenced to five years in prison.

Unaware of the missed court date, Abdellatif continued renewing work authorization and later filed a Form I-130 — Petition for Alien Relative — after marrying Sandra.

Because the prior deportation order remained active, ICE later moved to enforce it.

"To think we were MAGA!,” Sandra proclaimed. The couple even attended a Trump rally in Las Vegas in 2020.

Sandra voted for President Trump three times, believing enforcement would focus on people with criminal records — not individuals like her husband.

Counterpoint: patients are often morons and should not be trusted to weigh all the evidence (that they often don't have) in order to decide if they'd like them or their children to spread life threatening illnesses. That's why we have doctors! So they can advise us on how to keep healthy!

“[Patients] should be making the decisions on what the risks are of disease, what the risks are of vaccines, which is different for each person, what the family history is, and then make a decision from there, as opposed to what was sort of more of a heavy-handed, authoritarian thought of the vaccine schedule that led to mandates that if you didn’t have this set of vaccines exactly how they were prescribed, then you didn’t get in school,” he said.

No matter how hard I try, I can't figure out how this is supposed to work. The AI will make someone's laugh a different register? It will send a beam of light over someone's head? Do they think the AI is god, or the set designer in a play?

Other strategies for human flourishing were proposed and debated. Mr. Fisher, the researcher and engineer, spoke of highly personalized A.I. agents that could potentially work to match compatible people when they walked into a bar by “amplifying her laugh” from across the room or “slightly brightening the light above him when she looked his way.”
