Amber ✨🦇💄 @ambattii.com · 21/09/2026

this would be my modern "animes that inspire me as an adult" list LOL Umineko is still a major inspo too but i always am unsure if I should include it because my inspo comes from the VNs and not the actual anime sdlkfhsdf

This was a hard list for me to make because not all of these are on my "absolute favorites" list anymore, but undoubtedly were the series' that influenced my art, storytelling and humor the most growing up, despite their flaws and shortcomings

color language while bringing in advanced 3D lighting to really amp up scenes like this one, as seen in the concept art vs the 3DS version. Obviously the 3DS version lacks that dramatic lighting/depth and would have been cool to see against the toonier visuals

Amber ✨🦇💄 @ambattii.com · 08/09/2026

personally I actually think the 3DS version of Ocarina was the best visual representation of the game, despite first playing OoT on the N64, because to me it seems like the 3DS version was able to do what they were TRYING to do in the N64 version but couldn't due to tech limitations

yessss me too!! I notice you're trying to get like the textured/dithered retro look, if you want I have some Photoshop .act color index tables that are really useful for helping to recreate this look if u want me to send it your way! I threw this screenshot into them to demo, sry if overstep haha

Amber ✨🦇💄 @ambattii.com · 20/08/2026

RIGHT I KNOWWW I loved it so muchhh TT I liked that it had the musk undertones too, it was such a rich scent to me and I just loved it. If you have a Walmart near you, sometimes they sell this one for like 8 bucks that smells 90% the same as Moonlight Path!!

110

Amber ✨🦇💄 @ambattii.com · 20/08/2026

or maybe twilight woods??? GOD I miss these smells LOL

Amber ✨🦇💄 @ambattii.com · 20/08/2026

omg if it's from the same era it's probably like Sweet Pea or Be Enchanted .... both of these were also heavy in my rotation too SDLFKHSFDH

I think being inspired by other games/media is natural and it's a lot of fun to call back to what you're inspired by in your own stuff, but when even the logo makes your game look like a new stardew release or really good mod it's like... lol

I got an HDMI to CRT converter which is already cool enough on it's own, but I ran the game I've been developing on the CRT and........... omg it looks so much better on this TV sdlfkhsfdhk even despite the fact that the resolution is stretched out wtf

Amber ✨🦇💄 @ambattii.com · 09/06/2026

they made a remaster on the 3DS that was amazing!! like it looked like the concept art of the original game, like the same art direction/designs just with more advanced tech

Amber ✨🦇💄 @ambattii.com · 08/06/2026

Yesss it had like a VERY subtle metallic sheen to it, I remember the metallic being like slightly warmer? When I read blog posts ppl describe it as a like a very very subtle gold glitter on top of a cooler dark brown/mauve. Here is more pictures in other lights/skin tones!!

Visual coding engines often look like this: it's like a flow chart of functions that execute back to back, and it allows for things like variable checks (i.e. "if ___ happens, then ___ should happen" or "if ____ is true, then do this, if it's false, then do THAT instead"). you just hook up the nodes
