I've only seen that json.parse is faster than js for large objects. Can you share where you have seen the opposite?

The maintainer of one of our dependencies, debug, was the target of a phishing attack resulting in the release of debug@4.4.2 with malware. Supply chain security is all of our responsibilities. Be careful out there, and for today don't update your deps. socket.dev/blog/npm-aut...

Not speaking from personal experience but I've heard OBS studio is very powerful but needs more configuration. And it's FOSS.

Are these issues about type errors? Having errors with strict disabled but not when it's enabled would be funny.

You still need that file.
A screenshot of nodejs.org:
The type stripping feature is designed to be lightweight. By intentionally not supporting syntaxes that require JavaScript code generation, and by replacing inline types with whitespace, Node.js can run TypeScript code without the need for source maps.

Type stripping is compatible with most versions of TypeScript but we recommend version 5.8 or newer with the following tsconfig.json settings:
```
{
  "compilerOptions": {
     "noEmit": true, // Optional - see note below
     "target": "esnext",
     "module": "nodenext",
     "rewriteRelativeImportExtensions": true,
     "erasableSyntaxOnly": true,
     "verbatimModuleSyntax": true
  }
}
```
Use the noEmit option if you intend to only execute *.ts files, for example a build script. You won't need this flag if you intend to distribute *.js files.

I am sure a real browser would be much better than popular lib. It's just hard to convince people to use something that's clearly marked experimental.

Yes, only because of an older node version. I will update it soon along with node. But is there a reason eslint 9 did not support all of 18.x but only 18.18 onwards?

2/3 are marked as experimental. Arguably still better than using jsdom but it is difficult to defend using experimental features at work. The other 1 is terribly slow.

I like to use the comma operator for using and discarding values. In this case: ``` className={({ isActive }) => item, [...]} ``` It's a temporary change like a console log though. Not something to be committed.
110
Ambar Mutha @ambarvm.bsky.social · 27/02/2025
Navigating to the items .map callback in the call stack should also start showing item value.
110
Ambar Mutha @ambarvm.bsky.social · 27/02/2025
Not sure if there's a configuration for it. But if you reference `item` in your className function, the debugger should start showing its value.

With just one line of config change, this was working in an existing vite project with 5k+ js files and several custom and third party vite/rollup plugins 💜 Performance does not feel better though. I am guessing this will change with full bundle mode?

There is a workaround for this limit. Only one tab connects to SSE and shares the data with other tabs through the broadcast channel API.

@juri.dev I remember the nx docs recommend setting `fetch-depth: 0` to make nx-affected work; For us, on a relatively big monorepo, this took 1m40s on CI because it fetches all history😅. We now found out that setting `filter: tree:0` gets that down to 28s while nx affected still works 🤯

I may have misinterpreted the article. Is using .mjs recommended so that v8 can still do streaming compilation for other classic javascript files on the page Or Using mjs enables v8 to do streaming compilation of module scripts?

Ambar Mutha @ambarvm.bsky.social · 17/11/2024
Sad to see es modules are slower on web 😕 Has anyone benchmarked this?
Excerpt from a web.dev article
- Transform your production code to avoid using JavaScript modules.
Bundlers can transform your JavaScript source code based on a compilation target, and the target is often specific to a given environment. V8 will apply streaming compilation to any JavaScript code that doesn't use modules, and you can configure your bundler to transform your JavaScript module code into a syntax that doesn't use JavaScript modules and their features.
