He's 9 years old now and healthy! (born @ 24 weeks 650 grams) I do think having his neurological system developing while in the NICU (from 26-28 weeks gestation he'd stop breathing everytime he was touched or heard a noise) contributed to his sensory issues and Autism though.

I still remember walking into the NICU to visit my child and finding a diaper on his foot. With all the heel pricks they had to do that day it was easier than bandaging the foot each time

My son has used his Friday off school to decorate my floor and counter with play doh and clay art (his major interest is in media company logos and show intros and credits)

My son has a strong interest in show intros and outros. He especially likes theme songs and media company logos. Left him alone for an hour during March break and came back to these He's been into American Dad, The Cleveland Show and Community lately

My partially verbal son gets picked up for school by a van, but as we were leaving he noticed that our Halloween sign was off the door 'oh no! It fell!' told him I'd pick it up 'pick it up!' We had to fix it before he could get in the van. One of the kids in the van said 'B is the joker!'

I think she's a GLP and sensory seeker too? We just started animal assisted psychotherapy and B got to interact with a very friendly dog today. He was in heaven but got overstimulated and couldn't focus on what he was being told

As Mom to a preemie I have different early memories of his childhood - like this one that just popped up on FB. My son spent 117 days in the NICU but he's 8 years old now and healthy!
