My 6th grade teacher- A short answer is a 4-5 sentence paragraph. An essay is at least 5 paragraphs, or 1 page minimum. A paper is at least 3 pages. Your number of sources should never be less than your number of pages. College now- Here is essay #1- write at least 1 paragraph.

My daughter was recommended some software to use to make sure her college papers do not sound "too AI" by a teacher who had never met her, had never had another writing sample from her, and had no desire to verify what AI told her. Daughter spends more energy now thinking about it that writing.

Per month and this absolutely isn't going to be the full cost. There is likely a minimum they have to pay out of pocket before insurance kicks in (can be like $5000+) and then you pay to see any doctors, etc. On the low end, that is $30k a year to say you have insurance.

Here's the thing- My daughter, the one taking this college class without using AI while her teacher does, is 12 years old. She didn't get where she is by not knowing how to read and write. She also knows that if I ever catch any kind of cheating, and AI is cheating, she goes right back to 7th grade.

She has never met, nor had a writing sample from, my daughter. But... my daughter uses full sentences and fancy punctuation like semicolons and dashes. My daughter has requested an in-person meeting to handle this. Because she has receipts. "The teacher has a hallucination machine."

Friday, due to an altered bell schdule, she got to crash the advanced band class. She has only just started learning percussion (as in, this week). She said he considered for a minute giving her sheet music and seeing if she could keep up, but then feared she would.

In the piano class at 12's school, the teacher gives them a song to practice independently and then when they can play it for him correctly, they "pass off" and get a new song. As of Friday, 12 has reached the point of receiving a new song at the start of class and "passing off" before the bell.

I got N Carolina. A 🤏🏻 far off from S Illinois. As a kid though I got comments cause I had a southern accent with some kind of NE speed, and now I've picked up my husband's British in places. My brain does that thing where after a few mins I will start matching someone's accent.

When brought to their attention, the managers just reshelved them. Nothing would happen to the supplier, couldn't send them back. Just hope customers bought them in numbers that wouldn't cause tons of loss. Supplier enshittification becoming retailer loss.

panels. With supplier labels, all one barcode. But even then, they weren't all cut to those sizes. Out of 50 sheets, we struggled to find 10 or 12 matching of either size. More had been sent heavily damaged.

Some of the shrink is suppliers now providing shittier products to the stores. I recently needed paneling for a project. To save on my labor, I opted to buy the precut 32" boards. We discovered after some issues that under 1 barcode, the supplier sent a bunch of 32" panels and a bunch of 31 3/4"

My dad was a car guy. He could rebuild an engine. As a kid, he woukd let me help keep track of parts. His baby of a car was a Thunderbird T-top. I thought that was the coolest car in the world. Nobody else's dad had a car like that.
