Does anyone want a free Oracle/Sun StorageTek SL3000 tape library? It currently has 10x T10000C tape drives to be able to take 5TB StorageTek T2 tapes, but can be swapped to take modern LTO drives. Equipped with an HP StorageWorks 8/40 SAN Switch. Free, near Seattle. Will need a liftgate truck.

Do you want to tinker with a Redbox machine? We are imminently moving and need three of them to not be in our garage because we won't have room for all of them. Free. You'll need a truck. Please come adopt one. Must go by September 13th or will be recycled. Located near Bellevue, WA.

some of you may remember last year when I recreated a fake website that showed up in several seconds of S1E5 of H2O: Just Add Water (2006) I did it again, this time with greekmythicalcreatures.com, which appears for 188 frames in the series pilot, S1E1 "Metamorphosis"

a screenshot of Safari displaying "greekmythicalcreatures.com", an incredibly ugly website with a blue and white gradient background, a header with the words "Mythical Creatures from Greek Mythology" in a difficult to read cursive script, and six 15-17th century illustrations of mythical sea monster things.

a screenshot from Season 1 Episode 1 "Metamorphosis" of basically the same website displayed in a rebadged Safari called "Juicenet" on an iMac G5

ah perfect I turned my 401 megabyte copy of the first episode of H2O: Just Add Water into a much more manageable 45 gigabytes of PNGs

The MacOS Info tool inspecting a folder called "frames" showing it containing 36351 files and taking up 44.95 gigabytes

I remade a site that appears in the 2006 Australian TV series "H2O: Just Add Water" for like two seconds mermaidmyths.com

recreation of the site

Columbus reported that he saw three mermaids on his first voyage to the Americas. On January 4, 1493, according to Purchas, the admiral observed in his log that the female forms "rose high out of the sea, but were not as beautiful as they are represented." The creatures were probably dolphins or manatees, but Columbus, like other mariners of his day, was ready to see new marvels in every latitude. His mind was conditioned by medieval illustrations, fables, travelers' accounts, and astrological prophecies about unseen territories far beyond the familiar coastlines of Europe.

The historian Arciniegas points out that Columbus's favorite book was Cardinal Pierre D'Ailly's Imago Mundi, a preposterous description of the unknown world by an early 15th century "new age" philosopher. If, as D'Ailly claimed, the lands of the "other hemisphere" were inhabited by giants, pygmies, dog-faced savages and Amazons, the seas around these could very likely teem with seductive creatures, half woman, half fish.
