Took my puggies to the Pug Cafe in Edinburgh for some socialising and playtime. Much fun was had. Although I had to disillusion one small child who wanted to take my soul dog home with them.

Small pug sitting in a fluffy pink bed looking very smug. There is a stuffed pigeon toy on the floor.

A fawn pug being followed by three other pugs near a ball pit with pink and white balls in it. The pug at the front has a yellow toy in her mouth.

A fabulous place to visit in April

A discworld calendar showing an image of a house with a skull door knocker, a skull gnome in the garden, and fish skeletons in the pond. The pond is black, as are the weeds, trees and seats. The sky is dark purple and starry. There are two white lilies in the foreground and the words "visit death's domain - the trip of a lifetime!"

Played Hollow Knight: Silksong this weekend and remembered why I love the game so much. Thanks @azimman.bsky.social 🥹

"this is a place where everyone will feel welcome and everyone will feel included." Thank you @monkchips.bsky.social - that's more needed right now than I can express. #MonkiGras2026

Lots to write about from this morning at @dynatrace.com #Perform2026. But when Bob Wambach mentioned that there were puppies onsite, I went with my best puppy observability focus. This is Daisy, who is looking for a furever home. She is very kissy and snuggly. 15/10 would snuggle again.

Fab start to day two of the Open Source Summit Europe, listening to Dirk Hohndel talk about what it means to be open. There's going to be a lot of writing to follow... @linuxfoundation.org

3) AI won’t add value unless it’s auditable, deterministic, and aligned to business results - not just alerts and dashboards. Looking forward to this afternoon's sessions and some more customer insights.

A really good morning at Dynatrace Innovate Roadshow in London. Three standout themes so far: 1) Complexity is a given, but it doesn’t have to be a blocker. 2) observability only matters if it leads to better outcomes.

It's been an interesting few months working through this certification. Also learned a lot about cyber resilience, ethical hacking and data security. It'll be interesting to see where this leads.

Commenting and documentation - and documented decisions - make it possible to communicate synchronously and work as a team. This may be preaching to the converted but frankly it can't be stated enough 👏👏👏 #Monkigras

Knee-deep in analytics today, and it's bringing the sense of calm I needed while avoiding the news for a bit. That, and puggy snuggles.

a fawn pug with a dark snout and dark ears is looking into the camera. Her tongue is out, and she has a little row of crooked bottom teeth showing. She looks like she is smiling.
