ACLU privacy expert Chad Marlow is on Capitol Hill today testifying on the dangers of Flock’s nationwide surveillance network, which is unnecessary, ineffective, and downright creepy. Flock and other automatic license plate reader companies trade our privacy for profits — Congress must ban them.

The fundamental misunderstanding here is that e-bikes aren't replacing traditional cycling for exercise — they're replacing traditional methods for commuting that are MUCH more sedentary, such as sitting in a car.

Lordy I just saw another cyclist complaining about "helmet-scolding". Replace "helmet" with "seat belt" and see if you sound reasonable or like a crank. Yes, we need better bike lanes! And traffic calming measures! And you need to wear a goddamn helmet!

Hey, as a cyclist, this is a bad take. Cyclists can crash and get injured even with no cars involved (nearly been hit many times by OTHER cyclists!) Mamdani using his popularity for a bike helmet campaign is good, actually, esp when I'm seeing a surge of cyclists who just refuse to wear helmets.

Y'all are asking when's the last time Martina McBride had a hit single — I'm over here wondering if some event organizer asked her to join the lineup because she has a song called "Independence Day," but the organizer didn't actually bother to listen to her song.

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi originally had several women portraying Rebel pilots during the final battle. Most of their scenes were cut. The one woman who can be seen on screen had her lines dubbed over by a man.
