Heh, it’s not a video game, but D&D also had a huge impact on me. That was during the Satanic Panic of the 80’s, and I got into sooo much trouble. “Stop playing that devil’s game, boy!” “But mama, I’m playing paladins and clerics. I’m a good person in those games!” Fantasy was BIG for me then.

For me, that was FF4, though at the time it was just FF2 here in America. I hesitate to include it, because I had *just* turned 18 when it came out. I’m still kinda stuck on the “games while I was growing up” angle.

Lastly, the first Final Fantasy was EXTREMELY formative. Magic? Airships? Crystals and machines? Time loops? It was Arcanepunk before that was even a thing.

And there WERE a few old, OLD school games that I loved and were very formative. The first Archon and the Bard’s Tale for the C-64 stand out.

Got it. My interest in video games was piqued when I was very young, like 10-11, but I can’t really say that Pac Man or Pengo or Defender had a massive influence on me. 🤣

Was playing the Pokemon pinball game again tonight, and I actually got the chance to catch a Grimmsnarl tonight. Drained the ball almost immediately after he popped. One of my fave Pokemon and the only fairy/dark typing in the game. And I lost him. *runs off wailing in sorrow. 😭

As for hitting the Poké ball ramp, at the end of the right flipper, but not before it completely rolls off, is usually my best bet.

It can be, but let me give you a little hint. They’re about 60+ Pokémon in each of the four regions. The game has to start off. Default is forest, but you can also choose to start off in lake, mountain, or desert. The types of Pokémon that you can catch in each region differs greatly
