A challenging but very worthwhile visit with the Criminal Justice Committee to Low Moss Prison. There’s a lot of challenges within Criminal Justice but we were all struck by the professionalism and dedication of all staff, thanks to SPS and HMIPS for having us and sharing their experience.

My exchange today with FM John Swinney on domestic fuel oil. There’s no price cap on fuel oil, we’ve seen terrible rises across Stirlingshire and I’m concerned the market isn’t working. I’ve written to the CMA urging much more urgency on their ongoing investigation into the market.

Yes of course we do. The linkage is well past the point of making sense and makes no sense at all when renewables make up so much of a share now of our generation. There’s details to be worked out yet of course but the linkage is now entirely artificial.
