it can do cross platform dot variances with a simple file structure rather than templates, so it's very easy to update those files without manually wrangling the templating. it's also basically intended to be very easy to migrate to/from by preserving directory structures

it does iterate on them endlessly tho, like they don’t really need to be good if they influence the distribution reliably toward user expectation imo
