One day I'm going to get to an @artefactual.eurosky.social walk through West Woods! I was in Reading Friday, Dorchester yesterday, back out to Marlborough was just a thrash too far!

One piece of folklore I refuse to believe in is the waking of England's stone and wooden nights when the country is in peril. We keep lurching right, we keep lurching toward authoritarianism and they don't even show any signs of twitching. – #MattAdams, 1982

A human can only survive 2-7 days without clean water, whereas we can survive in perpetuity without datacenters. Choose wisely.

We’ve got a wonderful success story at Great Mell Fell 🦋 Once on the brink of extinction in Cumbria, the Marsh Fritillary is one of the UK's rarest butterflies, but we're thrilled to share a colony in Ullswater Valley has grown spread further along the fellside.

We shouldn't have to battle for access though should we? The information is ours. 🤷‍♀️

I had access, unprompted but secure. And very interesting it was too. I had the foresight to capture and archive the records I wanted, because then my surgery was merged and not only can I not see my own info, but appointments are an 8 mile round trip instead of a 10 minute walk... progress huh?

'A Russell Group university will no longer use ubiquitous anti-cheating tools provided by Turnitin because of concerns that the company might use students’ work to train artificial intelligence.' Maybe time for UK universities to develop and commercialise their own tools?

Sometimes you see a horse and feel a connection, not only to it, but through it to our whole history with them. They become a link to the string of chalk steeds on hills, to bronze age snaffle bits. A sense of them as battle beasts, the cavalry of ancient gods. – Freya Hope
