To be honest I haven’t minded it, it’s given players in need of a rest time to do so and other who needed to play some minutes. I think on balance I’d rather this than the 3 short ones.

And this is my problem with how I view the sanctions because I can’t be given that back. It’s much more important to me to know that from here on, I can invest the same emotion into something that’s real. If not I’d rather not bother.

I know the topic brings loads of views but I do wish the focus would shift away from past league tables and what the clubs want the sanctions to be (or the gvmt) to towards what it’s actually about. This is about one clubs complete and utter disrespect for sporting integrity and the impact

Just as a wider question, if they do get away with it, how do you think it will impact how or if you watch the Pl? I’d find it very hard to just continue as today, but I don’t know what that looks like right now.

I’m not really sure how Burnham is meant to answer that question but it’s clumsy. If they get off on a technicality or because they built some zebra crossings I really don’t know how the premier league can continue as today. Who will pay huge sums to watch something so rigged?

I do totally understand these types of articles and it’s well written but it kind of misses the point. It’s not about who has been the hardest done by, that’s just a reverse of the situation. This is about the impact on everyone, clubs, players, fans accross the board. Not just the football.
