Trump trade deadlines in July 'not critical': White House

WH presser shifted from SCOTUS decisions but bizarre ramblings w/no basis in fact continue. Claims that tariffs brought in “hundreds of millions of dollars” just don’t add up. Threats and chaos loom large but most countries’ tariffs still on hold, delayed, or w/drawn. www.cnbc.com/2025/06/26/t...

"Perhaps it could be extended, but that's a decision for the president to make," Trump press secretary Karoline Leavitt said of the tariff extension deadlines.

Speaking of which… the Regime’s presser is an embarrassing display of bravado & full-blown misinformation at work. They are claiming a victory that has not yet been won. Not one federal judge has come close to validating the Regime’s substantive position on eliminating birthright citizen.

With Trump v CASA, SCOTUS handed the Regime a first down… maybe even a TD. But we’re a long way from the final whistle, folks. Stretch your legs, grab a snack, & reapply that sunscreen. Whatever you do, don’t give away the win! The fight to protect birthright citizenship is far from over. #SCOTUS

Dissenting justices in Trump v. CASA sounding the alarm. - Justice Sotomayor issues sharply worded dissent from the bench, calling out threats to other constitutionally protected rights. - Justice Jackson, in her own dissent, calls majority ruling “an existential threat to the rule of law.” #SCOTUS

Live Updates: Supreme Court Uses Birthright Citizenship Case to Limit Use of Nationwide Injunctions

SCOTUS’ last day of the 2024-25 term is underway. Buckle up Buttercups! A 6-3 decision in Trump v. CASA limits nationwide injunctions & sidesteps any resolution to the merits of Trump’s EO challenging the fundamental elements of birthright citizenship. (🎁 article) www.nytimes.com/live/2025/06...

📅 On June 25 (10am ET), the Senate finally takes up Susan Monarez’s nomination for CDC Director. At the all-hands, Nina Witkofsky from our “leadership” called her “like a mythical creature, the unicorn you never see.” It’ll take some serious magic to explain her prolonged absence. 🦄

BREAKING: We just sued the Department of Homeland Security over their use of excessive force against protesters, reporters and legal observers. Exercising our rights to free speech should never be met with retaliatory attacks by federal agents. We’ll see you in court, DHS.

Fact or Fiction? The Legend of the QWERTY Keyboard

That’s interesting. And, this Bskys, is how we end up down rabbit holes. This 3-min trip is thanks to The Smithsonian Institution. youtu.be/4PKJlj2nU4o?...

Ooh! Peanut butter (creamy, not crunchy).

What if I already communicate with both (as my children and dogs will both attest)? Although, it’s not so much eye blinks as eye flutters with a combination eye roll.

010

Ok, then. Assuming we’re going for Latin alphabet? My Cyrillic and Greek alphabet knowledge is… well… I’d combine b and g but have them stacked. (Ok, so this is also my shorthand for making the “section” symbol when writing a statutory citation.) What sound? It would sound like book but with a g. 😅

010

Well, I do now. The wonders of QWERTY!

Line dancing is my cue to head to the bar for a refill. I’m more of a two-step and country-swing kind of girl.

Juneteenth is a reminder of how far we’ve come, and how far we still have to go. Today, we’re once more committing ourselves to the work of ending systemic oppression of Black people in America. We’re not free until everyone is free.

In honor of 1865 #emancipation of enslaved people in USA who struggled for equality and #freedom. I’m grateful for the federal holiday in recognition of this momentous event although personally feel I should be working and that all Black Americans should enjoy a paid day off instead💋 #juneteenth

On Juneteenth, we celebrate freedom and recommit ourselves to the work that remains undone. We remember that even in the darkest hours, there is cause to hope for tomorrow’s light.

All good! Glad you checked in.

Never apologize for being the grammar nerd, especially when you are correct! And, so we come full circle to the mistakes & corrections thread above.

040

Yes. It's worse than getting on a local thinking you've stepped on to the express.

130

This is the first I've heard of that. How do you know they're volunteers (if you don't mind me asking for clarification)? Why just on Tuesday - Thursday? What happens on the other days when you call?

000

Amen! This is a real problem. We can't ignore them, but, the way in which they are reported gives them a scary level of legitimacy. There are processes for a reason whether it's military orders or changes to agency regulations. I'm glad you asked this question - thank you!

030

Oh goodness - neither? (That won't win me friends in Chicago or Vatican City).

010

Where the whiskey drowns and the beer chases... (crap - maybe I should have googled that). Oh well!

120

No worries - send me a question.

000

Hi there - just noticed you used my answer in another post on your account to push support for PBS funding. I'd hate for someone to take this out of context - would love a head's up next time so we can make sure the context is included, too. Thanks!

Mt. St. Helen's - I lived in Montana when she last blew her stack.

130

Thank you! I'm doing ok, believe it or not. Thanks for asking. It's my #AltGov folks and all the other federal workers on the front lines that I worry about - they can use all the support you can give.

150

Oxford - all the way. Let's eat Grandma! (ewwww) or Let's eat, Grandma!

1130

I guess we'll know when they get there.

140

Fair enough. Not all choreography is good. 😊

120

Mistakes happen but so do corrections. Information can be wrong. New information often emerges. We often don't know wtf actually happened until a long time after, if ever. The most important thing is to correct mistakes when they are discovered and grant each other some grace.

1131

Yeah... someday, I will share the tale of the raccoon named Bandit and the small child who loved him.

Wow. So, this is where all the evil happens. Love the new matching hat set, by the way. Do you wear those at home? Or just at work?

I like "First Up" from NPR - it's a short 15-20 minute podcast every morning that gives the lay of the land without too many overwhelming details. I also like PBS's NewsHour. I max out very quickly with talking heads on TV - I feel like I'm eavesdropping on a group-therapy session. It's too much.
