Good morning. Unexpected diy required today. The wooden batten I fixed the blind to has come crashing down. The batten wasn't actually fixed to the wall by whoever bodged it up there - it appears to have been pushed into the wet plaster and held up by wishing. This house 🏡 built by 🤠

Privileged to be allowed to watch Pekka Kuusisto and Aurora rehearsing earlier and experience a fantastic new string composition that receives it's World Premier tonight. Never heard an arrangement like it. Performance was electric. Brought tears to my eyes. Timely to be reminded of the wonderful.

Who's glad today is done?! Didn't get up this morning thinking I'd be phoning for an ambulance and then 999 to get a defib release code but here we are! Just one uneventful day would be welcome. Either that or someone needs to hurry up and press the red button. Woohoo! Cherry liqueurs for dinner 🍽️

1.58am this morning. Dumped out of my dream and suddenly wide awake. Was some kind of kids drama of baddies trying to get a kid from his flat, in a comedic fashion and him throwing household objects at the bad man to repel him. I wasn't even in it - just watching like a tv show. I'm very hot!!

Woke suddenly at 1.45am for the second night running. Something unsettling me (I was dreaming about the gas certificate for the caravan) but why exactly the same time? No obvious noise or anyone outside Laying here, I can hear a very determined mozzie buzzing around wanting to get at me. No chance!

Finished watching MasterChef: The Professionals and I really don't know how they chose the winner - the final three were so well matched. Personally I would have placed it differently but mostly because of the winner's narrative - his ability to verbalise should have been discounted. Well done all.

Watching the #Strictly launch show and... well it's rather disappointing. Kudos to everyone working so hard on it, but I only know two of the celebs and it all seems a bit desperate. Not feeling the supposed chemistry between the presenters either. Shame.

Good morning! No sick headache this morning. Having lunch with dad today at my childhood home, so that could all change. I'm starting to take the collapse of capitalism and civic disruption more seriously. This is concerning. My fragrance of choice today is Deep Heat. Be good!

I think he'd be surprised that I was still alive. Twenty was when depression really kicked in. I don't remember much else about my twenties. As a 56 year old, I'm not disappointed by me today. Everything I set out to do over the past twenty years I've pretty much achieved.

Got up and drove to Felixstowe. I've really detached myself from that place. Didn't linger. Spent an hour loading the car. Marked Clio's anniversary. Cried a lot. Drove home to Essex. Had a sick headache all afternoon. No real shocks. Sleep and paracetamol helped a bit. Craving liver. Have none.

One year ago we had to say goodbye. It's been both the longest time and passed in a flash. I didn't think I'd bear the pain of the heartbreak caused by losing your love and companionship but I'm still struggling on. Life is poorer for you not being here. I hope you are happy, running wild and free ❤️

Air fryer meat-free sausages, chips, mushy peas and french stick for tea tonight washed down with a big old mug of strong tea. Happy boy. Thank god my neck or whatever has clicked back into place. Couldn't have managed another night like last night. Should be off to the caravan tomorrow. Night x

Watching and very much enjoying MasterChef: The Professionals. It feels a very elevated/ sophisticated way to start the day. Autumn sun finding it's way through the window. Delicious colourful food images on the telly. Think I'm developing a kink for chef whites too. 😋
