Alisaie supervised during this process as I had previously knit her--five years ago, so my gauge changed. This meant Alphinaud turned out smaller as I had tightened up some over the years.

Knitting his body was the easy part. The pattern is my own design that I've knit at least 10 times before, so it was just a matter of doing it again and making slight changes as Alphinaud is on the slimmer side. It took 22.5 hours over the course of 20 days.

Yuki and I are glammed and ready!

One thing I adore about FFXIV is that the NPCs will have extra bits of dialogue if you talk to them even when they are not the quest giver/ender. This bit made me cackle tonight, lol.

IT'S A BOY!!! All my chocobos in Final Fantasy XIV are named Yuki, so I intended to name him the same but I forgot that in FFXI, you have to select names from a list. So I named him "Vivid Snow", as one of the meanings for Yuki is snow. BEHOLD HIS CUTENESS!!!

Favorite projects of the year, post 3: Weaving I started a Great Woven Blanket project, based on Florencia Campos Correa's "100 Pin Loom Squares" which I borrowed through the library <3 I'm just starting off with the basic weave in 2 grays and a pink, and think this combo is striking.

A simple, basic woven square done on a Zoom Loom. The warp is a dark gray and the weft is a dusty pink.

Favorite projects from this year, post 2: Knitting It's a tie between Erenville (still gotta sew his clothes! and yes I know his skin tone isn't quite right, the skein looked different when I bought it) and the Gunbreaker square, which is very striking.

Favorite projects from this year, post 1: Crochet Gotta be Nordic Stripes, aka nephew's graduation blanket. I gave it to him at our family Christmas party and he really liked it and sat with it in his lap for the rest of the night. Said it was worth the wait!

A mosaic crocheted blanket in a geometric design. The blanket starts off with a series of stripes in two shades of gray. It then transitions into a diamond and arrowhead mosaic design, done in black on a light tan background. The middle of the blanket has a large solid black panel offset by dark gray stripes, then the mosaic design is repeated. Finally, the far edge mirrors the gray stripe sequence from the start. The entire blanket is edged in black.

Crafting all day long / On a gift (or two or three).... I need to block this, add the tassels, and crochet it onto a dowel, but I finished this wall hanging for a family member. (Ends aren't woven in on this pic but I did that earlier today.) I hope they like it! 🧶

BEWARE OF THIS HORROR STORY!! #ShowMeYourKnits is featuring fingering weight yarn this week. I made the Eden Prairie Shawl, which I had long admired. Wore it once, then moths got to it. I had to throw it away. 😭

I made Kefka from Final Fantasy VI. He's the *definition* of unhinged.

LOOK LOOK I finished the mosaic section of my nephew's graduation blanket! Just some stripes and the border left!

A crochet blanket, done in the mosaic style. It starts off with a series of stripes in two shades of gray, then transitions to black and a sandy tan color stripes. There's two identical mosaic colorwork sections which feature a geometric design of black diamonds and arrows on a sandy tan background. The middle of the blanket features a large black section offset by dark gray stripes. It's a very striking design that has gotten much admiration, and is done in a soft acrylic yarn.

Timeline cleanse! Show me your hobbies! I knit and crochet, often geeky things. Here are some of my faves, all Final Fantasy related.

A crocheted Carbuncle toy, this one patterned off of the Final Fantasy XIV design. He is turquoise in color and walks on four legs, looking like a cross between a cat and a rabbit as he has long pointed ears. Navy blue stripes are down his back and at the tips of his ears. He's got a red diamond on his forehead, and a trio of fat tails.

A knitted doll of Aerith from Final Fantasy VII Remake. She's wearing a pink V-necked dress with lace trim at the flounce and darker pink around the lace and above the flounce. Her dress is paired with a red cropped cardigan, and the outfit completed with black boots. She was completely designed and knit by me from my own pattern design.

A crocheted Moogle from the Final Fantasy franchise. He has a white body, purple wings, a red nose, cat-like white ears with pink interiors, and a red bobble is sprouting from his head. He's grinning cheekily and short whiskers sprout from his cheeks.

WHEW I DID IT! #ffxiv Sugar Glider mount MINE, gems/vouchers all farmed, no buying off market board. (You need 500 Turali Bicolor Vouchers for the mount. Each voucher costs 500 gems. That's a LOT of FATE farming!)
