It was an EXTREMELY sobering experience when I realized this was the case for basically every woman I knew. If this sounds wrong to you, then they probably just haven't told you about it. For many, it's an ongoing concern. They change their behavior and make compromises in their lives

If you're on Win 11 Pro, you can use the group policy editor to defer feature updates by a set number of days (I do a month,) dodging almost all of these stupid issues. If you're on Win 11 Home, you can use regedit to do the same thing. If you're on Win 10, you're smarter than me.

The more I ponder what Mary said here, I think it is VERY important for those who don't like this EVEN IF YOU DON'T STREAM and want to send a message to Amazon on where the Twitch community falls in the genAI discussion to go in their settings and turn this off. Upcoming Takataka update adds some basic Git integration, letting you see current diff status versus HEAD and conveniently revert changes at will. Diff also visualized in the document minimap. Currently dogfooding. Bonus: Syntax highlighting colors come to the minimap. #softwaredev #dev #gamedev

You might also consider a USB Bluray drive, so you can turn all your discs into files on a local streaming server. It's easier than most people assume, but a standalone player is great if that's what works for you.

The custom case came from customgamecases.com Overall, pretty impressed with them too. It was very cool to be able to pull all these disjointed accomplishments and products together from different people to make something special for my collection. Considering Star Fox 2 as the next project!

This came together great and works like it was shipped from the factory this way. I ordered a new reproduction sticker from fireandclarity on Etsy and the reproduction manual came from TCGPaper also on Etsy. Both are TOP NOTCH quality, very impressed.

Here's what I ended up using for those who care: I replaced the SRAM with 1 megabit chips from Digikey (IS62C1024AL-35QLI-TR) and pulled the mask ROM and replaced it with custom-flashed new old stock UV-EPROMs from ebay (MF27C801-100F1). This was all cheap in 2024, I'm sure prices have gone up.

Pulling out the PCB, I discovered I had made a small mistake. I knew I was going to have to pull the mask ROM and replace it with something else I could flash to get the game's data on there. But I didn't realize the SRAM on this game was too small for Gradius 3 to run until it failed to boot.

From there, I just needed to get it onto real hardware, so I grabbed some donor carts that would already have an SA-1 on the PCB. Specifically, several cheap Japanese copies of Mini 4WD Shining Scorpion: Let's & Go! Here's one I managed to leave unmangled.
