This is completely outrageous and disgusting. This must immediately be blocked by Congress and Trump should be impeached for this. The US is now funding Putin’s war machine as he murders civilians including children. We are lost as a country.

I am delighted to report that I have sold another story, "Drowning in Monstrosity," which will soon appear in Black Cat Weekly. It stars my roguish far-future character, Rali Ribhu. This is the 7th story featuring him that will have been published. I'll do an anthology of them at some point.📚🪐💙📚

I just gave to Dr. Amy Acton's historic grassroots campaign!

Another billionaire is trying to buy the Governor's seat. But public office shouldn't be for sale to the highest bidder. Ohioans are facing tough circumstances right now and we need a fighter who will...

I think the Senate Judiciary Hearing today, where they tried…in vain…to smear Jack Smith, was better than anything else that could have taken place to boost voter turnout for democracy. I think it reminded a lot of people just how much they hate these swindlers…and why.

One problem is that things in the publishing world have changed so much. I started out back in the 1970s and the scene was very, very different. It's better in some ways, but worse in others.

I'll have to see if I can get the Imhotep Chronicles listed there. Is there a specific way to do that? Even some of my OOP books are listed.

Al Sirois @alsirois.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

I see. I also see that some of my stuff is listed there, even including some short stories.

Oh, okay -- it looks sort of like Goodreads. I was a Goodreads user for a while but I got bored with tracking what I'd read.

MIM is the 1st book, KUSH is the 2nd, and GHOST is the 3rd. Plus I have published a number of short stories using some of the same characters, in BLACK CAT MYSTERY WEEKLY. I love writing historical stuff.

The books are set in the Third Dynasty during Djoser's reign, before the pyramids were built... and my lead character is Imhotep, of whom I am sure you've heard... :-) Such a fascinating character, and we know so little of him. So I started thinking, what was his youth like? Three books later...

Al Sirois @alsirois.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

I sized these small so I can send them as sort-of thumbnails through my newsletter, but they come out looking pretty fuzzy here.

I went through a phase back in the 70s and 80s when I would "seed" my published stories with a line or two from a Wells novel, usually THE WAR OF THE WORLDS. No one ever caught on, that I know of. I did it 3 or 4 times.
