Work has been a nightmare so I'm missing almost all of fall migration 😔 but a week ago I got to see this Common Yellowthroat / Mascarita Común at the park #birds 🪶

I see tons and tons of flickers but barely no red-bellied woodpeckers

All those warblers that switch to green-yellow colors in the fall know what they're doing!

Quite emotional to report that we've just found our amazing survivor Marsh Tit, still here in his ancient woodland kingdom. He's now 11 yrs 4 months old, survived the 2026 heatwaves/drought and smelt the wildfires of nearby Holme Fen. I ringed him in my 30s and I'm now in my 50s.

Swallows are slowest in the mornings when they’re feeding and dust bathing lowly across the sand Although slow is relative as these birds continuously zip through the sky I crouched low for this moment; watching the barn swallows bank and steer their way across the sand path ahead of me 📷🌿🪶

Getting a photo of a single swallow in flight is hard, getting two in frame is incredible!

Spotted today on my way to work through Central Park: a bird with one of the best names in English, an American Wigeon. And a bird with one of the worst names, a Rose-Breasted Grosbeak.

Lots of very dramatically lit birds on today's commute through Central Park! Here's two, an Eastern Kingbird (tirano oriental) and a Green Heron (garcita verde) #birds 🪶

Good morning! I spotted this Eastern Kingbird/Tirano Oriental (Tyrannus Tyrannus) at the Harlem Meer, on my way home from work. You can actually see the bug that it's trying to catch! #birds 🪶

aún me acuerdo de los medios y la gente diciendo que las superilles se iban a cargar la ciudad, que desmontaban el plan Cerdà y no sé qué historias más. Y ahora son un referente en diseño urbano a nivel mundial.

I don't know why mockingbirds really love the Conservatory Garden but they never venture into the rest of the park!

This kind of sucks. Monk Parakeets have completely taken over my home city of Barcelona in a couple of decades, and they will eventually take over NYC displacing native birds. I really love cardinals and bluejays, I don't want them gone 😞

Sorry for the lack of bird photos - I haven't been able to ride my bike through Central Park due to work + a stupid injury 😑. Instead here's a photo I took with my Yashica about a month ago: The Burnett Fountain at the Central Park Conservatory Garden #filmphotography 📷

They have different themes! I think there's also a Sci-Fi area... It's like some insane corporate theme park where you can get Epic training in an Alice in Wonderland inspired auditorium.

It took me months just to get a work permit after my (US citizen) wife and I moved to the US and married here, then two years for a green card, and I spent thousands of $ just in application fees!

Sorry for the rant but these articles drive me completely crazy! Trash containerization is a solved problem!!! There are thousands of cities around the world that use trash containers and it works infinitely better than the stupid system we have in NYC! What are these people talking about!!!

I was at Riverside Park today and I took the funniest photo of that B2. It looks like the sky is missing some ceiling tiles.

I'm a total believer in this, weekends as they are now are too short. WEEKENDS SHOULD BE 3 DAYS: -1 DAY FOR RESTING -1 DAY FOR CHORES -1 DAY FOR FUN (i.e birding) It makes total sense! It might seem like it's an utopian goal but so was the 8-hr workday! We can do this!
