Abandoned the idea of an intercept by then and dropped south to Scotland, ON (SW of Brantford, ON) to try and see if I could find any damage! Ended up finding this tree damage just south of Harley, ON! I’ve already tagged NTP on this video as I posted it earlier on Twitter so no need to tag. Thanks!

Spooky storm chase this yesterday (May 19th) evening! Tried to see if I could intercept the tornado warned bowing segment from the north through a line of small popups into clear air ahead of the storm but it caught up to me and got even faster afterwards.

Their outlooks have the same impact vs confidence as they put in their colour coded warnings. If we went off of that alone then you can see how exceptionally rare a "extreme" impact matched with "very high" confidence is for outlooks alone but for tornado warnings? Crazy to be that high of impact-

Day 5 (Saturday - April 18th, 2026) has a 15% overall severe risk (combine - we won't know the percentages for tornado, wind, and hail till Thursday - April 16th, 2026) partially over extreme SW Ontario (Windsor & Sarnia). 👀 Though the discussion specifically mentions more of a wind threat! #ONwx

...Day 5/Saturday - Ohio Valley/Great Lakes vicinity...

A severe risk will likely continue into Saturday as the upper trough
continues to strengthen and shift east from the Plains to the Great
Lakes/Midwest. Strong deep-layer flow parallel to an
eastward-advancing cold front will overspread a moist and at least
weakly unstable downstream airmass through evening. This will favor
a line of convection with damaging wind potential.

Blue skies now! 👀 Any popups are having issues with the anvils outrunning the updraft though as of current time. But that means we won’t get widespread early on convection which means we’ll have cape building for the main event fully and not eaten up by widespread popup showers! 😆
