Must be quite a fun kindy, if the kids are still hanging out there when they're 9 and loving the geography that they study hard from their stack of books on their early 20th century retro desks.
Probably-generated photo of a purportedly real employee at MEYM Kindies with 6 out of focus students in her class that are clearly well beyond kindy age and performing study activities like it is 1926.

I'm being served ads by the Mineral Council of Australia trying to create a narrative about roads and reef tourism operators. Boat tourism operators are having their concerns hijacked by the mining industry. Mining industry can and should internalise their costs.

Albanese to UN: “ambitious but achievable” target to reduce emissions by 62-70% on 2005 levels by 2035 Data would like a word
Australia annual CO2 emissions chart from Our world in data shows Australia Emissions are in fact not going down at all since 2005. The target is miles a-fucking-way

For those familiar with the Iliad, Hector might come across as an odd choice for naming a Road Safety mascot. He was after all, famously killed and dragged behind a car.

Well-intended people: "For people to walk and cycle, we need to provide streets where people feel safe." Truth: Aiming for the bottom of Maslow's hierarchy will motivate too few people to matter. Streets must also provide belonging and esteem.
Adapted diagram of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, with suggestive bicycle stencils. The Esteem and Belonging tiers have most bicycles. The Safety tier below has one meagre road-riding warrior stencil. The top Self Actualisation tier has a Penny-farthing stencil.

I have a hard time buying this one: here's a google img search based on a screenshot. All are on social media. Same picture, but different canal. All are very tourist-picture-perfect pics of NL. Most with the _exact_ same caption. Extraordinary claims need extraordinary evidence.

I suspect Townsville University and Hospital wouldn't be Australia's only Honourable Mention on this list. Distance to city: roughly 3x the distance to the airport.

I'm not really familiar with the extent of NYC, but these 5 borough charts from nyc.gov don't immediately agree with the 68% car modal share that shows in that triangle diagram. What are your thoughts, @davidzipper.bsky.social ? (though the nyc.gov data talks about "commuting")
