Fascinating image choice. The lighting highlights the back of his neck. The most distinctive feature of his facial profile is the weird fluffy cowlick. The placement of his hands is awkward, not confident. My eye is drawn past him to the landscape, he is rendered less-than and out-of-place.

Put the garden to bed this week, saw some small wonders.

A swallowtail butterfly caterpillar on the leaf of a parsley plant. The caterpillar has bright yellow stripes and spots, alternating with bands of black.

A red-orange spotted ladybug beetle on the dark centre of a purple, faded coneflower. A yellow black-eyed season flower fills one corner of the frame and the background is a soft mix of out-of-focus green leaves.

I don’t know about others but for me it is an effort to disengage with Meta products. I’m not giving them any more data etc if I can help it. IG never managed to be a good business tool for me. I know many people who have found it useful for their art though, so it has been harder for them to leave.

Merlin app suggests Cooper’s Hawk, likely in Winnipeg today and it preys on smaller birds, usually caught in flight. Had a nesting pair in my neighbourhood a couple years ago.

Truly a horrible plant. If you do nothing else, pull the flower stalks out now, before they disperse thousands of seeds. It won't stop the rhizomes but it'll slow down this dominant invasive.
