september 2026’s zine, « CITYWALK », is composed of two loose-leaf sheets of yellow paper, folded and tied with vintage thread, evoking a newspaper. the images are photographs i took in chicago, digitally composited and collaged together to represent what i noticed there. subscribe 👉 allisonanne.com

really fun and thoughtful piece about zines and community in durham, nc

screenshot of an INDY piece

"You are a local when a place and its people recognize you as accountable to them, and you recognize yourself as accountable to them," a cartoon illustration of Hernandez says in the "Hyperlocal Habit," as the zine discusses who gets to be a local in any given community. But beyond just being local, the zine encourages individuals to break down what that means and why it matters so much to tune in, connect, and contribute to the place you inhabit.

MSP PSA: NEST FEST (i left the salon for like fifteen minutes to take a break and this was dropped off in the interim! not sure who is organizing it but i am very charmed)

NEST FEST
Sunday, September 27th at 12pm
Join us for a community picnic honoring and cherishing the enormous bald-faced hornet's nest at the Lyndale Park Rose Garden.
This is a celebration of the nest and its beauty. Please come in peace with ecologically-responsible intentions only.
What can I do at Nest Fest?
• Get your portrait drawn of what you would look like as a wasp
• Enjoy or participate in the "Barry from the Bee Movie" lookalike contest
• Dress to impress in your best wasp-coded fit or hornet couture
