#WIPSnips - Gods Play House Saw this prompt and immediately thought "Oh boy, which instance of 'nation' do I get to use for a story that takes place 'in Magi Nation?'" despite knowing the clear answer.

“I don’t think you should worry too much about that.”

“Why not?” Seemore asks.

“Because none of this is real,” Lyric says, shutting his eyes. “I mean, it’s real to us, so don’t get freaked out, but this is just a Story, and we’re Gods. We’ll fix it, it’ll just take time, but time can’t stop us…”

“Muse,” Seemore says. “We live in Magi Nation. Of course none of this is real. It’s not a secret.”

Lyric opens an eye. “…What?”

“Yeah, no,” Seemore says, shutting his own eyes to lean against the wall like Lyric is doing. “We’re in the land of make-believe. Imagination, in Magi Nation… Everyone I know in Wimdy knows that. But we’re just trying to live our lives anyway. My life is real to me, and the impacts I make are real to the people I help.” He opens an eye to look at Lyric from the side while the other two stay closed. “Wait, is that something they only teach out in Wimdy? Do other high schools not have freshman philosophy and that course on the inherent non-existence of the world and the value of kindness despite it?”

It was first given to me by an older person who exclusively wrote memoirs when I was maybe 9 or 10. All my friends wrote fun things and I wrote what I feel was the most boring piece in the class that only won the writing contest because our teacher was also an older person who liked memoir pieces

#WIPSnips - Gods Play House Been a while since I posted one of these, but here we have more Seemore and his first dive into the Uncanon Valley

Seemore looks down into the darkness. Even with the pitch black, he can see flashes of blue, just like the Mortals who rarely get to peer into the Valley say. The cause of the rumor of some monster living in the Pits that sends up the Bad Ideas that rarely escape the Valley…

But the blue is just Metta’s familiar glow… And the Ideas feel familiar too… In a way he isn’t sure how to describe…

He jumps, holding onto his hat with invisible hands. He tumbles down faster than the elevator and loses sight of it as the light of the Haven is swallowed up by the darkness of the Valley. And yet, as he sinks into the inky well of Ideas, it feels comforting. Not unlike sinking into a comfortable armchair with a fresh cup of coffee and a new detective novel to read…

As he lands, safely and on his feet and with his hat still on his head, he stands and looks around in all directions at once at the Ideas staring back at him…

“You fucken want something or…?” he asks the empty void. The Eye-deas avert their gaze. Seemore tilts his head up, eying something of his own, something he hadn’t previously been able to see… “Oh, is that what it looks like when you’re writing the World?”

The Narrative sits flummoxed, mere paces away, that the Detective could so readily read the Story. The Story, in turn, turns to light the path for Seemore, with the visage of their dozens of glowing blue screens.

“Impressive dive there, Seemore,” Metta greets. Seemore stares at the screens, at the writing, at the Ideas, and shrugs before following the screens to where Metta’s main face and body are waiting with Inkwell barely visible beside him. “Not surprised both you and POV are willing to dive in…”

"Write what you know" in my experience was used to hamper creativity by others saying I didn't know "vampires" or "aliens" so why write that? Then I started to argue "I know my imagination, so I can write fiction" Like most advice, it's useful for learning but then people conflate it for a rule

like idk if they even read the chapters i think they just saw that it posted within a month and were like "dude i didn't think you'd update this fast 💔" like sorry if other writers have burnt you with their skill issues but that ain't me I'm *good* at writing

I got a comment from someone on an unfinished fic saying how much they'd want to see it finished so I finished it and I guess I wrote too fast for them that I think they suspect I used AI like no dude I'm skilled enough to write 50k words in a week if motivated enough

what cis people fail to understand about transphobia is that it's not "treating trans men as women and trans women as men," it's "constantly occupying the status of Third-Sexed Unhuman who can be gendered in whichever way is most convenient at any given moment"

A comment from user (Pythonmelon) that reads "These people are so used to scheming they would fall for the plot of Cars 2"

guy acts like I'm incapable of being serious and treats everything I say like an invite to yes-and and it's gotten so bad that I want to ask him to stop reading the story I'm writing since he's clearly expecting a comedy and not going to handle the fact it's a tragedy with a comedic veneer well

i do not know how to explain it but you don't use "clean" shapes, they look imperfect but not unnatural, but they're not "realism" proportions either. Like even for a character like Don who is Just Shapes, he's not polygonal or round enough to make it clear what shapes he's made of yet he is Shapes

Knowing that's the SMBC guy, I think that's a genuine philosophical question and not a arguement for/against AI but it's definitely not clear about not being for AI if it is meant to be neutral. I would hope it's just misguided wording at best
