When certain things are in the news it can be very triggering. So, a reminder, it's okay not to be okay. But if you're not okay, please PLEASE get some help. You are stronger than you may feel and more loved than you know. ❤️‍🩹 Joanna afsp.org/get-help/

I am legit happy for you. It makes me feel so uneasy when I lose things. Happy Friday!

Indeed. Plus walking out of your home, face first into a spider web. Followed by the smell of those beautiful leaves rotting in wet piles and clogging up the gutters. Ahhh.

Yeah, I understand. I think with people at a certain top level, they're going to be criticized no matter what they do or say, unfortunately. Can't make everyone happy all the time. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh, this is Joanna, not necessarily speaking for the whole band, and meaning this as more of a question to ask yourself rather than answer on the internet.

The All Hail Hereafter @allhailhereafter.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

Sometimes it helps to look at their past. Have they always been involved in certain kinds of causes or seem concerned about politics or social/global well-being, or have they said or done things that make a current stance questionable?

Yes, the most important power we actually have is to advocate for ourselves, especially when it takes some digging to figure out what's really wrong. Good luck with your show!

People say the most wild things when dealing with those in cancer treatment. I am working on a memoir about surviving a rare cancer (and the broken American healthcare system) called "A Really Great Attitude" because that's what the nurses kept telling me I had.... Hope you're well now. ~ Joanna

Absolutely. One of a kind musician. And by all accounts a great human being. I'm still sad that he's gone.

Aaron Huffman was one of the absolute best. Harvey Danger wouldn't have been the same without him. I feel like not enough people know who he was, and this made me very happy to see. ~ Joanna

RS with your home river I took this pic of the Chicago River's North branch from my favorite bridge. Searching online you'll see images of it from downtown, with skyscrapers, bridges up, or dyed green for St Patrick's Day, but it has so much natural beauty as it runs through the neighborhoods.

The North branch of the Chicago River, looking serene. Blue sky with wispy white clouds and the moon high above even though it's daytime. Lush green trees on either side, the top leaves looking golden in the sunlight. Along the right river bank there are a few docks where homeowners keep their little boats.

Thank you for your support, and let's keep working for better conditions for all laborers, including universal healthcare that doesn't trap people in their jobs or neglect those who need healthcare (which is all human beings!). Being a musician is difficult but necessary and gratifying work! 💪🏻🎶😘🩶

On this Labor Day weekend, a reminder that independent artists in the USA have virtually none of the protections or benefits provided in other types of careers, but the global consumption of media indicates that making music is a "real job" that takes training, gear, and experience.

While I might have said before that this album has a lot of spring-like qualities and lyrical references, it's also a perfect late summer/early fall album - lots of warm summer day songs and cool fall evening tunes. Come check it out!

I also had a Fisher Price record player. I remember it being tan and beige, but maybe there was red and/or white trim. Anyway... what a week. Hope you're well. ~ Joanna ~

That's infuriating. It's difficult but important to advocate for yourself. Some doctors just don't listen, or a problem isn't obvious, etc. Especially as musicians who use our bodies for our work, it's necessary to be able to take care of ourselves. Much less to pursue life, liberty, and happiness.

110

The All Hail Hereafter @allhailhereafter.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

Yeah, that really stinks. Our system is so broken. I keep hoping it's so obviously broken now that the only solution is positive change (aka universal healthcare).

It's so frustrating that health insurance no longer covers almost all massage therapy but will cover physical therapy and chiropractors. I don't go for a massage like some people go to a spa to relax, it's to keep me functional. I hope you feel better soon and get the help you need. ❤️‍🩹 (Joanna)

We will definitely take "bright and beautiful" - thank you! 💙 As for the ramshackle piano... we appreciate you taking the time to listen, and if you only checked out the first few tracks, you heard piano 1 (below) more than piano 2, which we used on the rest of the album. 😂

A toy piano on a little table surrounded by recording equipment.

A black grand piano in an isolation booth in a recording studio with three microphones set up across the sound board.

When I started dating the person who became my husband, he lent me his copy of this album and told me not to form an opinion about it until I'd listened to it 3 times. Third time was the charm. Even if it's become cliche in indie circles, it's a classic now. ❤️‍🩹 ~ Joanna ~

Sharing this song in solidarity and with compassion for those dealing with the Ashenheart situation. Betrayal by a bandmate is a special kind of crappy and painful, and I'm sorry to hear you're going through it. You're definitely not alone. theallhailhereafter.bandcamp.com/track/equal-...
