Le Grand Parterre - the gardens of Chateau de Fontainebleau Palace, France Eleven years ago #onthisday - today I am on a roll with this theme. I could post like this more often but busy, busy. And yes I know, I should be out shooting photos on THIS day but it's too effing hot! #architecture

Monochrome photography of a grand French palace with a lake with fountain in the foreground and a few visitors standing to give a nice sense of scale.

Smash it up Captain Sensible playing with The Damned at Vintage at Goodwood Festival, #onthisday in 2010. Predictably it was very loud and if I ever blame any one band for the current ringing in my ear then it's these guys. But it was worth it... #livemusic #photography #thedamned #guitar #punk

Colour photo of a guitarist on stage - this is Captain Sensible so he's wearing what looks like a sailor's outfit and with his usual red beret.

8 years ago #onthisday, arrived at Green Man Festival on the edge of Bannau Brycheiniog National Park (aka Brecon Beacons) with ominous clouds overhead but they came to nothing. This year's festival is next weekend and they will be desperate for rain otherwise the Green Man may not be burning!

Welcome to the new home (2009) We were there for seven months only, but it did inspire me to greater creativity. It was a relatively boring townhouse, but it was a new space with these ostentatious double doors. #retrospective #selfportrait #nude #monochrome #naked #nudity #portrait

Backlit B&W full length photo of a naked man walking towards the camera while opening double doors.

A day late to the party but could not but help notice the similarity! I actually took this just over a year ago - i’ve never posted it anywhere so it’s certain that we independently came up with the same idea. 😅

A shower in leaves (2009) From my first nude self portraits in the environment - this is Richmond Park, which may be large but is also London, which in retrospect seems a bit foolhardy... The toy camera feel was accidental but I like it. #retrospective #selfportrait #nude #monochrome #naked #nudity

A black and white photo taken in a wooden glade - a naked man stands amidst tree trunks. Angled towards the camera, he is holding handfuls of leaves which he is allowing to fall around him.

One year ago today I find that this was my last nude photo shoot with artistic intentions albeit decidedly leaning towards the erotic genre. I sometimes wonder, is that all that is left? #selfportrait #erotic #torso #male #monochrome #nudity #naked #nude #malenude #48hourpost (probably!)

Black and white photo taken from above of a slim male torso, erect penis - high contrast with light from a skylight framing the body. Shadow of tripod over legs.

From a visit to the preserved Laxon army camp at Älvkarleby, in the north of Upsalla county, Sweden, I am not sure when the photo was taken but my best bet would be the 1930s. Nice to see the image on open display in the street with a short, very Swedish, explanation in English.

An old indistinct black and white photo of a large group of naked men bathing at a lake.

Written short history of Laxon army camp.
