It never ceases to amaze me how my vet can conduct a fairly simple procedure with far greater ease and speed than a country with the technological might of the US. All moral arguments aside, surely one of the greatest arguments against the death penalty is their inability to actually administer it.

This must be, up against some pretty stiff competition, the most depressing headline I have ever seen:

Oh Dougie. Why do you hate England so much? 😜

Especially when you almost definitely own a fucking helicopter. 🙄

So Burnham ‘courageously’ thinks Brexit has ‘done more harm than good’. Be nice (not to mention quite impressive) if he also had the courage to list the good bits.

Big fight with Matisse over the DipDab. All kinds of accusations flying around the Left Bank.

Well I think step 1 would be an attempt to prevent your first assertion.

Yup. And Picasso did the Sherbet Fountain.

I know it’s a rather more complicated question than social media can accommodate, but what’s your view on Universal Basic Income? Because it seems pretty clear that there are not enough jobs full stop. But especially in manufacturing Which doesn’t mean there isn’t stuff to do…

Are we back on the Cotswold terrorists again?

It’s up there with the Great Replacement ‘Theory’ and the idea we’re somehow all going to be forcibly converted to radical Islam. I rarely agree with Jacob Rees-Mogg, but as he said at the Oxford Union - ‘I’m just not.’

I think at this rate he’s more likely to don a balaclava and join his mate ‘Tommo’. Same vibe as when he tried collaring fare dodgers, just on water.

They’ve got a Buddhist insisting children sing Christian hymns. I’m not sure they’re quite well.

To be fair, all he ever wants is to be popular, so I’m sure he’d happily agree with the rest of us that pretty much any iteration of Robert Jenrick was a dick.

Ok. Am I allowed to really like the book of Ready Player One but hate the film A LOT?

I blame Jeremy Clarkson for opening his pub next to their favourite clump of trees.

Yup. Be nice if we voted for someone who paid attention to our vote for once. Mad idea, obviously.

Reminds me of a great joke by my friend Alun Cochrane, to people who mocked him after he bought in London in early 2008: “D’you know what I’m going to do? I’m going to LIVE in it. That’s right. I’m going to use it for its designated purpose rather than regard it as an ‘investment vehicle’.”

Having massive issues with the youngest and school refusal. In an idle moment I had a quick look at local SEND boarding schools. Could I just say, if you are sending your child to boarding school, you are clearly earning far too much money.

One of the main ways was giving massive subsidies to anyone buying an electric car. They literally used fossil fuel wealth to finance moving away from fossil fuels. What a silly country… 🤪

That’s nothing. They made me perform on a different children’s television show, set in the hold of a boat, then simply let me go. Yes. I was a Playaway stowaway throwaway. 😫

I was a waiter in Covent Garden in the 90s. I was once taking an order when the ceiling fell in on the table (missing me entirely for added comedy value.) All soaked plaster tiles. A roofer came in, took one look & uttered the immortal line: “What you’ve got there is what we refer to as a ‘leak’ ”.

When the last bison is dead, only then will the white man (in the black balaclava) realise you can’t eat sovereignty.

Also, Hitler was evil, but also on so many metrics - utterly incompetent.

Wes Streeting was Health Secretary and is now Defence Minister. Going from keeping people healthy to making them dead is quite the career arc.

Not that James asked (why would he?) But these are mine: A) Loudly pissed off their regular voters on big issues like immigration, protest, trans rights. B) Complete silence on topics those supporters wanted addressed - EU, PR, Israel C) Did some good bits INCREDIBLY QUIETLY. D) Comms 🤷‍♂️

Brings to mind the best audience put down I ever heard. From the estimable Roger Monkhouse, to three talkative ladies of a certain age in the front row dressed quite…confidently: ‘What is this - Atomic Mutton?’

Don't wish to undermine an account wth its heart in the right place, but 'allegedly' is doing a lot of f*****g heavy lifting here:

I love this. I mean, call me Miss Shercule Colombo-Christie-Spade, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say he did it. Thank god they had a couple of days to review the footage.

Amazing idea Kemi. I know how much you hate the 'Big State' & value 'personal freedom', & I can think of no better illustration of that than telling the poor what to spend their money on. But why not concentrate instead on making work pay enough to make it worthwhile? Who knows? It might just WORK.

A timely reminder I could never be a politician because, as my wife never tires of telling me, my face is completely unable to hide ‘disdain’.

The other problem is he's always been a spectacularly terrible President. All the troubles he has set in motion & stored up over the last decade are coming home to roost just as he's lost interest in anything except naming things after himself. Which was all he ever really cared about anyway.
