Modern books have illustrated covers, but in research collections the cover is often a plain library binding. So I made Flipbook: hover over a book from any #IIIF source and flip through its pages. hadro.github.io/flipbook/ #GLAMsky 📚📜 49930

Alison Kudlow @alisonkudlow.bsky.social · 23/07/2026Many years ago I saw a Hockney show at the Louisiana Museum in Sweden where they presented his iPad pieces (very new at the time) on iPad screens and some of them showed his process—a sequential video of each mark he made. I won’t argue that those were good art, but they were riveting to watch. 020

Alison Kudlow @alisonkudlow.bsky.social · 09/07/2026It was this line that slayed me once and for all “the different approaches have cost Democrats talent and energy.” Aww the poor democrats, having a moral red line at rape is so costly to the talent pool. 020

Alison Kudlow @alisonkudlow.bsky.social · 02/05/2026Really? I felt elated after seeing it: a museum doing exactly what museums should do—carrying an art historic thread through to contemporary practices. 100

Alison Kudlow @alisonkudlow.bsky.social · 25/04/2025The regime’s idea to teach women about their menstrual cycle to encourage more pregnancies is so wildly insulting and out of touch—as if the problem is that we don’t know how to get pregnant! 020
Alison Kudlow @alisonkudlow.bsky.social · 04/02/2025The idea that this billboard “politicized” Bloody Sunday (or the original photograph) is laughable! What about the march or the horrific slaughter that ensued was not “political”? The crime here seems to be that the billboard ties that historic moment to present day politics, which was the point! 160
