Avenue tank by @toriknitsnyc.bsky.social, in Venus Flytrap linen-bamboo from @thirdvaultyarns.com I had a bit of yarn left, so tried adding short row cap sleeves. Not perfect, but ok for a first try, and more sun coverage now #craftsky #knitting
A v-neck knitted top with short gap sleeves, in a yarn mix of turquoise, light and dark green and magenta. There's a big reverse Z of these colours across the waist where they've pooled. The sleeves have a little puckering around the bottom armholes

Kirschbluete (cherry blossom) tee by Julia Marquardt, crocheted in 100% cotton frogged from another project, plus scraps. My first crocheted circular yoke. Looking for a good tutorial on adding short rows for the back in crochet, if you have any recommendations. #craftsky #crochet
A pink crocheted top with columns of double crochet (US), going from 1 by the neck to 7 at the bottom, between columns of a cluster stitch that looks like two petals side by side. The sleeves and hem are slightly flared. There's darker pink trim at the neck, sleeves and bottom hem.

Part-frogged, reknit and finished! The Partition Pullover by James N Watts. Already wearing it to test the temperature control. Knit in Paintbox yarns cotton Enjoyable to knit (flat), and the finished fabric feels quite squishy and drapey. #craftsky #knitting
A black long-sleeved top with a round neck. The main fabric is thick black columns, separated by mesh lace (two holes offset against each other).

Crocheted pumpkin bag, pattern by Greene Crafts A mistake in the first panel means the pumpkin isn't symmetrical (nine sections instead of eight), but real pumpkins aren't symmetrical, so not to worry. First time adding a zip to crochet #craftsky #crochet
A small orange bag, shaped like a slightly wonky nonagon. It has two green curly leaf tendrils and a small green stem in the middle, and a dark green zip at the top opening.

Cloudbreak tee by @woolandpine.bsky.social It's a nice change to have lace along the bottom half instead of the yoke I bought the yarn as a silk/cashmere blend on Vinted, found out afterwards it's Temu, so not sure of the actual %/make-up. It's still quite soft though. #craftsky #knitting
A short-sleeve tee in bubblegum pink. It's stocking stitch from neck to slightly below the waist. The remainder is a horizontal wave pattern, with garter rows between a fan lace pattern.

Chasing Dawn shawl by Alina Appasova - done with the main skein and 8 mini skeins from the 2025 advent calendar by Ted Knits (80% merino and 20% silk) Designed for 12-skein advents and fun to knit. I got around 70" length with 8 skeins. #craftsky #knitting
The first half of a rectangular shawl/wrap, knit on the bias. It has a repeating design of arrows pointing up at the centre, with slipped stitch rectangle "bricks" in two rows, six rows of eyelet laces, two more rows of bricks, a "dotted" slip stitch row, and then a colour change.

The colours go from variegated pink and purple, to grey-pink, to pale pink, to gold. The main colour of the slip stitches is black, with slight tones of green and dark pink. The second half of the shawl described previously, now with the arrows pointing down. The gold from previously goes into a pale green-pink, gold-green, pink-grey, and finally pale grey.

Metamorphosis: from sweet potato to axolotl
A long and relatively flat sweet potato, shaped a bit like an axolotl body as viewed from the side. At what would be the face, two pink and white roots are sprouting upwards, roughly where the axolotl's external gills would be.

Seashore Stroll tee by JST Knitwear, in magenta 100% bamboo that I got off Vinted, but turned out to be from Temu. Thinner than 4ply, has a nice drape. #craftsky #knitting
A knitted short-sleeve top in very drapey dark magenta bamboo. It has a circular yoke, with a repeating pattern of garter ridges, triangles made from purl bumps, and eyelet rows. The bottom is finished with a repeat of the eyelet row and triangle pattern, instead of ribbing.

Petite pointelle top by @jessiemaeddesigns.bsky.social in 100% cotton. Knitted in black so the pattern doesn't show up well on the photo, but it's very visible against skin in real life. A fairly simple lace pattern, the scalloped hem technique was new to me and I enjoyed it. #craftsky #knitting
A black cotton knitted tank hanging on a washing line in a garden. Although the full pattern isn't clear, it shows vertical lines with lace eyelets in the columns between (a 4-eyelet pointelle). The neck and armbands are double knit with a tubular bind-off. The bottom hem has a light scallop which isn't very clear in the picture.

Moonglow top by Zanete Knits in Rico Fashion Cotton Métallisé DK (53% cotton). Almost invisible in the pic, but it sparkles in real life. Lace with cables is my favourite type of knit, so this was very engaging. #craftsky #knitting
A knitted short-sleeve top in pale grey DK. It's barely visible, but if you zoom in you can see bits of glitter (much less than in real life). The top has a pattern of large interlocking diamonds (only three whole ones visible on the front), outlined by cables and filled in with lace. It has stocking stitch panels at the sides, and icord bind-offs at all edges.

Rainwater Mint shawl knitted in a surprise Corriedale mohair from @thirdvaultyarns.com The photo was delayed as I tried to block out the curl in the garter tab cast-on, which didn't work. Any tips? At least you can see the beautiful colours in the yarn #craftsky #knitting
A triangular shawl hanging on a washing line in garden. It's made in a variegated turquoise and lilac yarn. The pattern has diagonal lines with eyelets radiating from the line down the centre. The initial garter tab is curling under at the bottom.

I feel like this is a controversial recipe for potato salad. I mean, it looks alright, but if someone told me they were bringing a potato salad and then brought this, it would not be what I was expecting.
"Bunter Kartoffelsalat" (colourful potato salad) by Sandra's Backideen. A large glass bowl shows a salad with chopped potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, yellow peppers, peas and ham, garnished with hard-boiled egg halves. To the side are a creamy and an oily dressing.

Two super-fast bulky knitting projects - these took me under 10 hours in total (and I'm not a fast knitter) Bulky brioche slouch hat and bulky garter snake cowl by @lavanyapatricella.bsky.social Black acrylic leftovers, and grey/brown Lum Farm wool from a friend #knitting #craftsky
Two brioche knitting projects, coordinating in black and grey-brown yarn.

The cowl has black top and bottom, and grey brioche columns, descending from a point in the middle. Above the columns is black and grey garter stitch.

The hat has grey ribbing, grey and black brioche, and a grey crown decrease.

Resharing the image with alt text added
Screenshot of a social media post:

It would be a shame if the protesters began making their signs out of quarter-inch-thick plywood to stop rubber bullets, forming a tight shield wall to prevent police from singling out and mobbing individual protesters. It would be a shame if the people behind the shield wall held up umbrellas so that tear gas canisters fired over their heads on the front line will be bounced away. It would be a shame if protesters began constructing improvised armor vests out of duct tape, hard-backed books, and ceramic tiles.

It would be a shame if protesters started wearing safety glasses, hard hats, respirators, and gardening gloves, all of which can be found at the same hardware stores as the plywood. It would be a shame if they started using traffic cones (the kind without the hole in the top), upside down buckets, or other improvised lids to contain teargas by placing them over the canisters.

It would be a shame if protesters learned that police scanners are legal to own in the US, allowing them to learn where police are moving, and what routes they intend to take. It would be a shame if they discovered that these scanners can be used to send as well as receive, allowing them to flood the scanner frequencies with noise.

All of this would be a terrible, terrible shame.

*It would be an awful shame if you copied and pasted this, so that they couldn't delete the original and all linked posts (again).

**An even worse shame would be to start donating these items to protesters...."

Another WIP off the naughty pile and finished - this is the Ursa by @jaqcieslak.bsky.social. I had to frog sleeves to correct gauge, and switch from round to flat for the triangle intarsia, hence the delay. Two mystery yarns from a swap, happy they were just enough for a top. #knitting
A v-neck raglan jumper in bulky yarn. It has a half-brioche column down the front and back middle, leading into a half-brioche triangle from the bottom up. The main body is varieaged chenille in purple and navy, with flashes of turquoise and olive. The triangle, neck finish and sleeve cuffs are in a turquoise yarn with flashes of purple, blue and white.

First finished object of the year! This is the Tales of the Tundra cowl by Hunt Hand Knits. A mystery knitalong that started on Christmas Day. I wanted a background colour that would bring to mind the northern lights, and I'm very happy with my choice. #TalesoftheTundraCowl #knitting #craftsky
Flat section of a knitted colourwork cowl. The top and bottom have corrogated ribbing in black and bright purple. This is followed by a geometric pattern of triangles and diamonds, in purple with black highlights, on a background of gradient pale lilac to turquoise.

The main image is the face of a wolf, with a paw print either side of its head, and mountain peaks below. The design is in black on the same gradient background.
