This talk is absolutely. fucking. amazing. I've seen hundreds of talks in my career and I can't remember a single one that I enjoyed *this* much. Cliff is absolutely *delightful*. Life goals: Be this guy. Well, with a skirt. Seriously made my week.

This week I'm gonna go see a temp agency because things are that desperate. I would love to get an actual lab/science job in the southern Bay Area if anyone knows someone who is looking for a scientist/senior research associate/lab manager... >20 years of experience and I can't find a job. Please.

Hey @tubetime.bsky.social, just so you know, if you ever got back to the MOnSter 6502 project, I would still totally buy one! ...alternately, I'd totally take gerbers and a parts list?

Hey @direct.wtf, do you think we could get a center guide on the scaled style stereometers in MiniMeters? Would legit be pretty useful!

000

TDV Alinsa @alinsa.bsky.social · 09/01/2026

Alternately, does anyone know if there's an #ai tool that would be up to the task of texturing me? I'm going to guess not, since proper fur requires more than just picking colors, but it seems like my only other option is just... give up.

Twitch musician (and my favorite streamer) @jonathanong.bsky.social did a lovely rendition of Auld Lang Syne as his last song on his last stream for 2025. It was a surprisingly amazing (and emotional) moment, topping off a year of amazing music. youtu.be/axmPUtYAyXk

Hey @vivziepop.bsky.social, don't know if you'll see this or if you can do anything about it, but the audio mix for the songs in Hazbin S2 is screwy. The vocals are moved to the L+R channels & really low in the center channel, which makes the vocals really hard to hear on full 5.1 systems.

Hey #blender #blender3d geeks, I need someone to do some fairly realistic texturing on my model here, and I need someone to animate the upper parts of this model into a repeating headbang animation. Can be the same person, but doesn't have to be. This is PAID work! DM me!

Okay gang, what are your suggestions for a time-series database that can be used for metrics gathering (mostly via telegraf) and graphed via grafana? Vaguely preferred is something I could just turn on in one of the clouds (for a reasonable cost) and don't have to maintain myself.

Somehow I missed it, but apparently @evernote.bsky.social went and *doubled* their price last year? Are they *trying* to lose all their customers? And their free tier is now "50 notes max", so that's not really an option for... anyone. Anyone have a preferred replacement they'd recommend?
