For the past six weeks I've been experiencing really severe tinnitus. Not something I've had before, came out of nowhere. Six weeks isn't considered long in the tinnitus stakes but it's getting gradually worse, and I'm trying to resolve myself to the possibility that it just won't ever go away

I think probably I need to start proactively planning my life so that, as far as possible, I don't have to do anything throughout June-August. I can't do these months at all. My brain stops functioning. I get depressed. Trying to push through as if I'm a proper person during this time does not work

Maybe though honestly this implies a much greater reliance on how the words sound when spoken than I've ever had - my knowledge of the spelling of any Chinese words is 100% from subtitles (and meta/fic too I guess) with zero aural input. But obviously could be different for others!

oh interesting! I can sort of see where that comes from though, "uo" is a letter order that basically doesn't appear in English while "ou" is very common, I still often have to slow down and consciously think about it when typing.

I feel like the OP doesn't know enough to say either. I *do* use ellipsus and this feature is one of many in the optional paid version, all of which were developed from suggestions by the community. The main reaction I've seen is students thinking it might be useful for academic writing

I did it! I drove the car for the first time! I parked in a bay and went through a 60mph zone and did big roundabouts and no one died! Obviously all things I did countless times while learning but not on my own in this car!
