My first UG mentee @WLU accepted an offer to pursue her PhD @ UI Urbana-Champaign working on primate #microbiomes. She came into my microbiome class my 1st year as faculty planning on vet school & was inspired to do #research in my lab & hasn't looked back. Why I love what I do! So freaking proud.

Check out our latest pub in Communications Biology. Really cool study that elucidates a nutrient recycling pathway in which the coral holobiont incorporates nutrients from sponge-derived matter.
